DJ Specs
Just read an article at ZDnet on the Hotmail spam horror, or as I like to call it '######', because that is what it is. The article is HERE! I know, just yesterday I had 18 pages in my bulk email folder of the same message, and even with my filters at the highest, and using as many of the other options, the spam gets in, and my legit email gets sent to the bulk folder. This is pathetic. MicroStickItUpMyShaft really does use us as suckers! So whats your hotmail horror stories?

hurting101
I've also had bad experiences with hotmail spam. 2000 emails, to be exact. Note: that giu makes me gag too. don't know how I used to live with that :s

nXP_151 Veteran Posted March 22, 2002 Veteran Share Posted March 22, 2002 Until now I even receive so many junks....Hotmail service is sucks, why can't MSN do something about it, after all it's part of the big Microsoft.
Tikimotel
I hate SPAM, I mostly get stuff, that doesn't even apply to me... "Enter the Most Amazing Sweepstakes" blablalbla bla blablalblaalbla nlalbnlbblal eligable to apply to win bladibladibla blablah. only for residents of the US or Canada, fedaral law & justice department 1389, bladiblablabla... :dead: I DON'T LIVE in the US or CANADA, this is just a waste of bandwidth, becuase they have sent this kind of SPAM to my ".nl" (The Netherlands) e-mail address. An other thing is, you can't reply to it to be removed from the list, so I checked out the message source. It's send from an IP number, wich hosts a web site, I sent messages to the webmaster of that site complaining about those messages... It must become "impossible" to be able to send these kind of e-mails. If the reply adress unkown?(checked out on the e-mail popserver or something), don't send it... I could send you all SPAM (But I won't;)), Just put up a Linux server install Sendmail/Exim/Extrememail/etc.. and a user account named "SPAMMMER-X@bla.com". create a database with "@Hotmail.com" addresses and start sending messages, with a reply adress that doesn't work and is unknown by "Hotmail" postmaster/ delivery service. Yuo could however see in the message source(select mail & right mouseclick, message source...) that it came from my(linux) ip-number... Somebody STOP the SPAM!! hurting101
There should be a 'similar emails' filter on hotmail, which would remove some spam. If your email is neowin @ hotmail.com,if the spam was also sent to (cc) neowin34, neowin0, neowinownzme, etc. then it gets put in the Junk Mail box. I don't think it was a mailbomb because inside there was an advertisement, and this guy had his yahoo email to email him about some tax offer or something. Do mailbombs have to be opened to 'explode'? I thought they did...
