Ben Hur
this is quite a common feature on many websites today. how about a wiki which is basically a set of pages which any member can edit.. useful for all the standard stuff, comon questions, etc. what do you think? dt26
Is this the latest fad "see-how-many-slightly-Neowin-based-sites-we-can-make-up" ? It's getting a bit boring now, I wish we just had the main site and the forum and that was it
matt74441
Can we get an example? I haven't got a clue what you're trying to say.
Ben Hur
basically like this: neowin.com/wiki would be a basic homepage with maybe the latest news. we would then have a tutorial section, a skins section, downloads, etc. anyone can change the pages whenever they like. its sort of a bit like a mic between a normal website and a forum. search for wiki on google to find more. 505
(..) would be a basic homepage with maybe the latest news. we would then have a tutorial section, a skins section, downloads, etc. anyone can change the pages whenever they like. (..) I don't know, but isn't that just what we have now?? No need to post news and questions/answers in to different placed. One place is just so much easier. nicholasadams
I like this idea. With a wiki, we can have a centralised place for all the tutorials, etc., as opposed to them being dotted around the forums. Also, other users can add some more information to the article, if desired. The only problem is that there would have to be backups of the articles, in case some jerk comes along and decides to delete an entire article for no reason, or whathaveyou. BTallack
I personally think it's a great idea. Wiki's are a great way to share information and for people to work together. I visit http://www.hrwiki.org/ regularly with is a Homestar Runner wiki. I've never posted anything, but it's still pretty sweet.

itsnotabigtruck
It could be called theNeowinInformationWiki because Wiki names are always in camelCase.

itsnotabigtruck
Is it something like My MSN?dL My MSN is a personalizable portal page. You can put news and other content modules on the page. A Wiki is a site anyone can edit. Anyone can create a page, edit a page, and so on without an account. (Some sites require having an account to edit, but that makes it not quite a Wiki)
