Windows XP Wallpaper Method

I am curious to know if anyone knows how Windows XP makes the wallpaper look a lot better than it does in Windows 2k?

I think it's because XP uses 24 or 32-bit pictures compared to the 8-bit bmp's used before.

You want to see what the diff bewteen old 9x desktops and the new winxp way? Right Click on the desktop and Lock the desktop to see the diff (to really see, use a smaller pic then the size of the desktop).

I think that if you use a smaller pic it almost uses to resolutions on your desktop (1 for the background and 1 for everything else).... negh.... i donno... just a guess....:alien::old: :alien:

I haven't noticed a difference between WinXP and ME in background quality. Icons though... WOW. WinXP has SUCH better icons and icon quality.

I love the new icons. And they have rid of almost ALL hard edges... everthing is rounded smooth now :cheeky:

Not only smooth, they've light reflection which make it look more real.. :D
