iTunes: Group compilations when browsing?

Recommended Posts

Alright, I'm actually using iTunes for Windows, but I figured I'd probably get a better answer here, seeing as it's made by Apple and you Mac ballers are so smart.

I've got a bunch of compilations loaded into my iTunes library and I want them to show up together, that way if I want to listen to a soundtrack or something, I can just turn off shuffle and let the album play.

My friend said I had to check off "Part of a compilation" in the info window, and even though I've enabled "Group compilations" they still don't show up together in my library.

Is there something else I've got to do? Edit the ID3 tags and change something else, or?

Thanks alot, and again I'm sorry for posting this in the Mac forum.

Group compilations when browsing does not have an effect on your Library view. It just group compilations when you're using the Browser (Ctrl+B). I'm poking around to see if it can be done. I don't have any compilations that have different album names so it never affected me.

Update: Compilations are considered to have the same album, different artists in iTunes. Pretty sure there's no way to group compilations with different album names together, other than a workaround like Unique said.
