Have you ever wondered....

Has anyone here ever wondered why there is a "Report!" button for your own post? Who the hell is going to report themselves. It's something really petty, but it bothers the hell out of me (kinda like the cut corner on the top right hand side of the page).

Every post gets a report button, regardless of who's post it is or who's viewing it.

I think he understands that but he simply ponders the reason why IPB put it there in the first place.

Because it's easier to code "ALL posts get a report button for everyone to see" than it is to code "a post only gets a report button if 1. the viewer is not a moderator/admin, 2. the viewer is not viewing his/her own post, and 3. the user is too stupid to know the difference between the report button and the quote button."

I really wish IPB would work on the last one  :argh:

 True. Very true.

They are separate in IPB 2.0, and in our Lite skin (I coded it like that). The quoting buttons have been moved to where the up arrow is and the report button has stuck where it is now.

Sounds good. That'll be an improvement.
