I don't know about AOL but I know in AIM you can change the maximum number of buddies in the Registry. Just go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAmerica OnlineAOL Instant Messenger CurrentVersionBuddy and change "MaxBuddies" to whatever value you want.

That registry hack only works for versions before 4.5. With 4.5 they switched to server-side buddy lists, so that registry value has no effect anymore. You can't get more than the limit, it can't be done.

Plus if you could there would be a million programs to just fill lists with bogus SNs to flood the AIM servers.

Actually, 4.3 was the first to introduce server-side buddylists; 4.2 and previous, however, will work with a change to the registry.

As for the original question, the only way I can think of is to have more than one screenname, and use one of the numerous AIM cloners out there.
