My understanding is that what is free today will remain free for the forseeable future. That said, MSN Hotmail will introduce a super-scale intertwined mail & calendaring service this summer/fall for MSN 8...so those who currently use MSN Hotmail as their primary email address will have the opportunity to get all sorts of functionality goodies.
