Do you use ClearType with a CRT monitor?

Recommended Posts

Yup I certainly do.. At first it was weird and I didn't like it but now I can't turn it off! Think it was just a case of getting used to it..

i always thought it was for lcd monitors. no i dont use it.

You should. Longhorn will have it enabled by default, and there's no plan to allow it to be disabled at this point.

quick question, there are two types of crts? flat and regular right?

Yes, you can either get a flat CRT or a convex one. Both take up loads of desk space.

Cleartype is designed for Laptop's and tablet pc's so that it can make the screens more clear because they are so small, but on a 17-60 inch LCD/Plasma you would be better off to leave it without cleartype
