KingChris
Tempest, i think the only upgrades are more ram and an airport card in the base. Could Be wrong.

Faction
Ahh stop dissing the macs, im loyal PC entusiast, but you know damn strait if someone handed you that mac, you would stick it on your desk and randomly use it for fun. The design is so simple and small, i mean you could bring it on vacation-etc. Whatever, i know damn strait i would never pay for that, but still, pretty nifty for people who just do internet stuff

wtmcgee
yea it's about as upgradeable as one of the smaller HP or Dell Pc's you can buy. but, these are all things that you get when you get the iMac - which is intended for your "casual" computer user - one who doesnt need the latest and greatest, and who doesn't care about upgradeability. if that's what you're looking for, you get the g4 tower. the iMac doesnt leave a lot of room to upgrade, but thats not really a design flaw on apple's part - it works just fine for the consumers that the iMac is targeted at. KeR
I hate macs but I would love to have that new iMAC so I could mess around with it. Looks cool to me!!!!!! The thing that sucks about it is that it's not upgradable.....

Didn't realize I was 'dissing' Macs. Thought I was voicing my opinion about the visual design of one specific type of Mac.And no, I wouldn't want one even if it was given to me. I do allow a tiny amount of aesthetic value to creep in when choosing a system, and based on my personal tastes I couldn't stand having it on my desktop. Surgically alter it to all Intel innards and I'd feel the same way. Of course, upgrade-ableness is another factor. It's why I passed up a cheap purchase on that NEC all-in-one system a few years back. Now if someone would be willing to offer me a G4 at no cost...
