It looks to bare now, but at least the 2001 copyright is gone from the bottom of the screen.

You can still understand if it's Home or Professional. The bar is green on home edition and blue on Pro.

Is that why I have Home and the bar is blue?

:blushing: my sister's laptop has a green bar.

Ok, maybe it's the TFT screen that makes it look like green.

Well, it's simple. With the "Home", "Professional", etc. and Copyright date gone, it probably makes the file a bit smaller too. But, it's a boot screen, and as long as it goes away and I see my desktop, it really doesn't matter to me. :)

i highly doubt microsoft were trying to cut down on size. ^ but yeah, you have a good point, as long as i see my desktop.

Nope.

Enabled /SOS and /BOOTLOG mode in my boot.ini for a more 'technical' looking boot screen instead for a bit of a change :)

I know many people have seen the change boot screen for Windows Xp after getting Windows Xp Service Pack 2. So what do you think of it? Like it or not?

I personally don't like it, you pay all this money for it to say Professional under Windows Xp and it doesn't anymore, only thing I like is there's no copyright date anymore, lol.

Comments are welcome.

- Barret

People pay for the features of Pro, not the bootscreen. Although I'd wager you paid for neither

IMO Apples boot screen is "simple" this is just the old one minus a line of text, nothing impressive...

[dont fight over what i said, its merely an opinion]
