Removing attachments ...

Recommended Posts

Why aren't users allowed to remove their own attachments? I can understand about editing their posts (well not really, but these are the rules :D) but not about the attachments.

Well I'm pretty sure that you can remove an attachment off of one of your posts, so long as its within the 40 minute allowed editing time, or it is the first post in the thread that you started.

Yeah i know, but why not allow to remove attachments from any time? Like for example you got some old work that you want to remove, or just for any reason want to remove sth. ... should we pester the mods with it? ;)

I reported the attachment three times, but nothing happens

The report button doesn't always seem to work. Your best bet is to PM an active Moderator and ask.

Because attachments are a part of your post and you are eligible to modify your post within a limited time interval. If you need something removed, just PM one of us :)

Guess a good thing to do is not attach but host it on something like SPYMAC's free 100 meg space and then simply link to it. When it gets old you can just remove the file from the hosted space and the link will no longer work.

Sound about right?

Yeah, and people always get annoyed when all those images don't work.

Attachments need not be images, by the way.

Attaching a file to a post is one thing.

Uploading an image that stays on the Neowin Server is quite another.
