CustardFD
Ok. I've got a job at a Research and Development site in a fairly rural area of the UK. The fact that is is fairly rural means there the only Internet access seems to be 56k or satelite. There is no cable or wireless internet in the area. Does anyone know of any (preferably cheeper than satelite) solutions I havn't thought of?

mariusu
many have the same problem here in germany! adsl is (deutsche telekom says) to expansive to provide in the rural areas, so the only solutions are modem (56k) or satellite (not cheap at all) thank god i live in a city! mariusu
you should also look for the availability of powerline. pretty good speeds (i think 2Mb/s or higher) but you'll need an extra channel for the upstream...but hey it'S beetter than only a 56k modem
