ive been busy making things :)

Question

be gentle on me, this is my first release of software for a few years :)

for the last month and a bit ive been making / testing / braking an app :) and today its released! the first few hours after release were hectic because it reacted tottaly differently then in testing.

eyespy_logo_250w.gif

its called EyeSpy and its a "desktop screenshot server". basicly you load the app, tell the person your ip address and they enter that into there browser... EyeSpy then takes a screenshot and shows it in there browser. you can customize the pages and other options in the app.

it supports

new screenshot on page view

new screenshot every x seconds

upload screenshots to ftp every x seconds

resize screenshot & compression

authentication

it has a few problems against routers but it is possible to get it to work. router support will be improved on the next version.

the demo version wont save the settings, so you need to re enter them all when you reload the app (unless you pay $10 and then there allways saved :) )

you can download at http://www.deviousdevelopment.com/eyespy.php

The program and the website look very professional and I love the skin.

Personally, I don't really have a use for a program like that but I think it's a cool idea and there are surely people who will find it useful.

new features coming are multiple monitor support, router support, opengl and d3d integration (so it doesnt cause a pause when taking the screenshot and playing a game)

and im going to experiment with things like php parsing (if php is installed) and computer information output.

the price is just a starting point, but its hard to set atm because of the weak $ against ?

How did you make the installer?

BTW: Very Good Program! :D

Edit:

I think I found a bug too.

When I set a password it comes up with this:

Cannot open file "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\root\authfailed.html". The system cannot find the path specified

Hey, that's a cool idea. I could see some uses for it. It'd have to tell the person who runs it what their IP address is though as a lot of people I know are on dynamic addresses and that would be handy to have at hand.

ok ive uploaded a developmental version to

http://www.deviousdevelopment.com/deveyespy.msi (please do not distribute)

this has the following changes.

changed part of the authorisation code so it now displays authfailed.html correctly (theres a bug where "401 Unauthorized" is displayed at the end of the page, im working on killing it)

fixed a bug in authorisation where the username / password promt wasnt allways shown

added silent mode for slow cpu. it disables the sound and the resizing image is more friendly to the cpu. this *might* help the pause when a screenshot is taken and your playing a game (not checked if it does yet)

fixed a bug where some things still had the old project name on.

added "quck change" ip method and copy ip to clipboard. right click the ip on the main window and a popup menu apears.

fixed bug for people behind routers with NAT enabled. you should set the IP method to external and port forward a port in your router, eyespy now listens on the correct port :)

fixed a bug where if the screenshot method was set to timed, in demo mode this was not set correctly

gerry.74 :: i use something called advanced installer, http://www.advancedinstaller.com/
