aem4162
is there ANY chance at all of lop hiding in neowin somewhere? i've been fighting with lop all day (adaware, spybot, deleting that file, turning off system restore, rebooting, and repeating) and it seems like it comes back when i come to neowin - neowin was the only site i visited after the last round of spyware cleaning and lop is back. ANY help or suggestions is REALLY appreciated!
FM
Well, unfortunately Lop is some of the worst spyware out there to remove. Are you sure it only happens when you visit Neowin? I'm having no problems here. Also, what browser are you using?

Well, there's really only two ways Neowin could give you spyware: The site itself (I think we can safely rule that out ) The ads I really doubt it's coming from the ads, since I'm *pretty* sure Neowin only uses Google ads. But I can't say for sure, as I haven't seen an ad in months.

FM
What is lop? It's this really annoying spyware that is a royal pain in the ass to remove.
El_Cu_Guy
Ad-aware and Spybot are nice. Norton and McAfee utils are too. However, no detection software is 100% and other are clones and actually place spyware/trojans on your system when you remove them (SpyFerret). I finally installed SpySweeper on my dad's system. For quite some time he would call me up I'd say do this and he'd go do it, then call me up a few days later to say it didn't work. Anyway SpySweeper finally nipped it in the bud.
