+chorpeac Author MVC Share Posted August 27, 2004 Ok there has been a change of plans. The Admins don't want us logging in from a non-neowin site, using the neowin username and password. This will relieve some security concerns, and it should remedy the special characters issues we have been experiencing. I'm in the process of trying to figure out how we will accomplish this. Please stay tuned...
timsweb Share Posted August 27, 2004 Cant you ask if it can be part of neowin, on the neowin server? Wasnt this the plan before? Thanks, Tim
matt95110 Share Posted August 27, 2004 Neowin's server doesn't have ASP on it.
+chorpeac Author MVC Share Posted August 27, 2004 Matt said it, as far as I am aware, Neowin doesn't have .NET capabilities
+chorpeac Author MVC Share Posted August 27, 2004 I'm definitely not sure how their website is configured. To run NeoRequest, IIS, .NET framework, and a MYSQL database are required.
timsweb Share Posted August 27, 2004 Can it be adatpeded to php and mysql? Tim
+chorpeac Author MVC Share Posted August 27, 2004 uh...not if I am the coder! :D I'm a .NET Guru.
timsweb Share Posted August 27, 2004 ok, lol, so what are you going to do about this? Tim
JMann Veteran Share Posted August 27, 2004 Us and the Admins are trying to resolve this asap. So please bare with us, we will sort it in due course. :)
+chorpeac Author MVC Share Posted August 27, 2004 If you didn't logout the last time you visited, you still have a cookie on your computer, and you will be allowed in. If you logged out the last time, then you have to wait... I'm just skipping the reauthentication if you have a NeoRequest cookie. Try it out.
amradiar Share Posted August 29, 2004 ok so you know people cant login?, if not now you do :D.

+chorpeac Author MVC Share Posted October 29, 2004 Can you reproduce it right now? I tried and it worked ok for me. I haven't changed anything lately to make it work for me.
The_Decryptor Veteran Share Posted October 30, 2004 (edited) Sorry for not replying quicker, anyway, i just checked the page and i got the error again. JMann Veteran Share Posted October 30, 2004 Chorpeac, stop fiddling! :) Im sure he will get down to it soon. :D
+chorpeac Author MVC Share Posted November 1, 2004 Hmm...weird I don't get the error, and I haven't touched NR in a few days...
+chorpeac Author MVC Share Posted November 1, 2004 Ah ha! I see what you are doing. Doh! You are trying to view that page directly...without going to the site to open it. Nice catch. :) It should be fixed now. That is actually an illegal operation, because it needs information from the system to display that page right. You should now be redirected to the home page and can click on the how to from there.
lhnz Share Posted December 9, 2004 I tried logging on at school and it won't let me logo on it says I have entered an invalide username/password. I get the same problem at home, unless I turn off my firewall: Sygate Personal Firewall Pro. I also tried using a password without ! marks and things but I did that when I tried it with my firewall was off, so cannot tell you what the problem is yet...
+chorpeac Author MVC Share Posted December 10, 2004 Hmm...well this doesn't seem to be a problem for me and my hardware firewall that is built into a router, and I am sure it is the same for other people. If you turn your firewall off, it works?? What country are you from?
