switch with 2 comps...real laggy when they go on kazaa for some reason

were hooked up to a switch and i find it when my sister goes on kazaa on her comp downstairs it really lags mine upstairs...

were on bell sympatico highspeed

windows xp pro

her comp is a amd 1.4 and mine is a 933

does anyone know why its so slow?

its slow when she logs on the internet downstairs while im in it upstairs , but i can live with that , its just when shes on kazaa its so slooooow for me and not her

does anyone know what could be the problem?

Well first thing I would do is take her 1.4 away from her, she doesn't need that do download things off kazza. On a more serious note, who make the switch? You say its a mini switch? I got a linksys 8 port mini switch, and it overheated on me. Everything would slow down to 56K speeds. When I started to run a fan over it, it sped right up. Put your hand on it, and if it feels warm that could be the problem. Anyway I returned the switch and went with Netgear FS108.
