those icons are Bluecurve icons.

the come from Redhat and the now FedoraCore linux.

you can use my guir module at http://fizical.deviantart.com and click on the bluecurve one in the list of deviations. this will change your system file icons. doesnt matter what version your files are it will work. includes avis but not bitmaps.. something i need to update.

you can also probably find an ip theme somewhere if you like. if you wanna take the time just grab yourself the actual .rpm package from fedora core and use the .pngs and make your own icons and hack system files.

I used GUI Replacer to change the icons to bluecurve but I didn't like them so I clicked the defaults button but it didn't restore my old icons. How can I restore my old icons?

you just do defualts and then rebuild icon cache. i've done it many times

The my computer icon is different. The Recycle bin icon is the ME one. A the quality isn't good. I've tried rebuildin the icon cache but no difference.

It looks like you are using a different bit depth. Right click on desktop > Settings > then the will be a drop down menu. Select you bit depth.
