NEWBIE - ASP.NET Webpage

Question

I am looking to make my personal website into something more then a crappy place to put pictures that noone looks at. Here is what i am thinking. I would like to have a place where family members can view and upload pictures, a homepage that can be geared toward my consulting services and things of that nature. I was told by a friend that ASP.net would be my best bet for a all inclusive type of programming that can do what i want and more. My question is are there any easy tutorials out there for using asp.net to create webpages? i have an older (2001ish) asp.net official MS book that i am about to crack open but if i can read a tutorial to get the website going first and add extra features later that would be great.

Thanks in advance BTW

Get the asp.net web matrix and choose a language you're best at (c# in my case)...

If you need any help with this at all (I'll do the whole project even :D, I have spare time) I'll do whatever you need.

I can assist you with almost any VB.NET questions as well as ASP.NET as they are both what i work in usually :D...

To answer your post...

You might not wana read that book because if it was written in 2001 that would mean its based on the BETA .NET 1.0; alott changed before it went final so that book may be out dated. I recommend you get a nice beginner book on .NET SAMS series are usally very good starter points. You can also look at the tutorials on www.asp.net or run a search on google.

Feel free to ask questions here or PM me and i will try to point you in the right direction or help you directly :D.

change font who? (my sig?)

You made your first post in a hard-to-read font.

Anyway, it's better to post ASP.net questions in the Web Programming forum.

I've done quite a bit of ASP.net development. If you need any help, simply post a thread in the Web Programming forum and I'll be there to help :p

Good luck!
