EmuZombie Veteran Posted April 8, 2002 Veteran Share Posted April 8, 2002 is there something I can buy that will cut down on cable tv interference caused by air channels? What I mean is, channel 4, 6, 10, and 12 are all air (free channels you can get by using an antena) and they are all "fuzzy" on my cable. So, my guess is, the cable line is picking up those channels like an antena and causing the interference... what can I do to prevent this?
mr.dan
i had the same problem. tjhe problem is not interference, it's a weak signal. i wenty out an bought a cable signal amplifier at radio shack and now i get crystal clear reception on my digital cable. it even sped up my cable modem a bit!!! dan
EmuZombie Veteran Posted April 8, 2002 Author Veteran Share Posted April 8, 2002 but then why would it only happen on those channels that are air channels?
SOOPAH256
you can buy a cable booster. what it does it boosts the existing cable signal. a decent one will cost around $25. unless you have a really bad signal, it should work pretty well. it worked well for me when i had vertical noise lines on some of my channels. hope it helps... mr.dan
beats me..... but i'm telling you the same thing was happening with me. only the local channels were messed up. supposedly they have a weaker non-digital signal because they don't broadcast digitally anyways. that's my guess. dan
Martog
Maybe the cable company is using an antenna to get those channels then feeds it into the cable line ;)
