30GB Western Digital Drive

Recommended Posts

Well, I've had this one sitting here for a few months, it was my girlfriends brothers, but his motherboard went out and he was running a K62 350, I told him it would have cost him about 200 or so to get his system running again (motherboard, cpu, case, memory) and today he told me he decided he wanted to just sell the hard drive and buy his son an XBOX (not what I would recommend, but I didn't say anything) so now I am going to sell this drive for him:

Western Digital

30GB

7200 RPM

2MB Cache

ATA 100

Model: WD300BB-00AUA1

In perfect condition, not used much, DOM: 02/28/01 (that makes it about 13 months old)

Shipping will be whatever you choose, I recommend USPS 2 day Priority, which runs about 5-7 dollars if you live in the continental US.

mod : 10. You must post a price / trade, unless its an interest check.

I'm waiting for offers, not sure how low I will go yet so I am just taking offers, I am looking now to see how much a new one goes for to get an idea of how low I will go.

I am selling this drive with the IDE Cable (BRAND NEW), the Western Digital Data Life floppy disk, installation manual, and if needed I believe I can find the original packaging.

Retail it goes for 90.00 and OEM (Bare) it goes for about 70.00 (both prices include tax but not shipping).

I don't think the above offer is a realistic price. :s

So for anyone interested, feel free to PM me your offer.

Thanks.

not to come off like a prick but its used been in someones computer for 13 months i would not pay 70 bucks for it. Id go spend the extra few bucks to get a new one and I can get a 40-60 gig for that price at a few places I goto.

Good luck though.

I'm not necessarily asking 70.00 for it, I am saying that the drive goes for either 70.00 (bare)or 90.00 (retail), that's to give people an idea of how much this drive would be worth brand new, to give them some idea of how much their offer should be.

So for example I would consider the price of the 90.00 one as a starting point since this drive will come in the packaging it came in originally, including the box, anti-static bag, manual, software, ide cable, and the original protective packaging.

From there I would have to add the fact that it's used (for about 6 months, the rest of the time I would occasionally put it in my system to test unnatended installations and other things for just a few hours, no more than once per month).

Now I may not make the same offer someone else would after considering that, but I wouldn't imagine that the drive is only worth 1/4 of the current price, and about 1/3 of the price of a bare oem drive.

Anyone ?

I've gotten a couple of offers, but two were absurd and one was from a guy in the UK, I guess he thought I was from the UK (I live in the US).

I guess it's no big rush, since it took me a week or so to sell the other drive I sold a week or two ago.

Again I keep getting absurd offers, here is what the drive goes for on ebay:

60.00 8.00 Shipping

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2012283416

66.00 12.00 Shipping

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2011142659

76.00 4.00 Shipping

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2013142755

These are all used, bare drive only, same size, rpm, etc.

The drive I am selling is hardly used and comes with all original packaging and hardware. Of course the prices vary, depending on the dealers presentation, etc.

I am getting offers of less than half of the above prices.

If I don't get any better offers I'll sell it on ebay, I just avoided that because I don't have a credit card, so I'd have to ask my brother to do it for me, which entails alot.

I am aware of that, that's why I am not trying to sell the drive for the retail price (90.00). However I am getting offers of 35-40 dollars, that's less than half of the cost of the drive new, and in my opinion the drive shouldn't depreciate that much for being used six months.

Why must people always quote ebay when trying to sell something that they feel they're getting low offers on. The people who by **** on ebay, do so because they don't know where to go to get go deals on computer stuff (ie...pricewatch.com).

I know it doesn't sit well, but computers and computer components are like cars. The instant you drive them off the lot, their value depricates by like 25%, instantly. If one guy offered what you felt to be an absurd price thats one thing, but if everyone is offering it, maybe that should tell you something?
