That's a big mistake my friend - IE is still terrible, despite the very minor additions under SP2.

Its features don't even compare to Firefox - the best browser in the world.

I cant remember if i have posted in this thread, so ill post.

Gecko for me, although i would happily vote for the KHTML engine, and the one that powers opera.

Also, the people voting for Trident, apart from it's rendering speeds, how can you like it, it supports jack all web standards.

well im not a IE fan and neither do I like Firefox that much, i use AVant Browser which is based on IE's engine. but im waiting for IE7 and will try as soon as I can lay my hands on it..

I would have to say Presto, the engine in Opera. It's smaller, faster and more capable than other engines. Presto fits neatly on a mobile phone, while Gecko has a really hard time with that. They are working on stripping down Gecko for mobiles, calling it Minimo, but who wants a stripped down browser when they can have the real thing - Presto?

Opera = every feature needed, excellent overall

Firefox = very easily customized, active community of Dev's

Maxthon ( ie shell ) = tons of features, very extend-able, active community, more secure then ie.

First of all, this isn't about each browser, but about the engines! There are other threads for comparing browsers.

That said, Opera has a very active community! It's got a huge forum.

The reason I choose Firefox is because of its widely available extension, skinable and performance wise although it lose to Opera in term of speed. and no problem with all site either.

Wow, yet another person who didn't pay attention. This is about browser engines! Not browsers! There's Presto (Opera's engine), Trident (Internet Explorer's engine), Gecko (the engine of Firefox, Mozilla, and Netscape), and KHTML (the engine of Konqueror and Safari).
