i was allway use the GECKO engine (with firefox) and i have give a try to the new Opera 8. and wow. really faster, and "smother" browsing... but less support for plug in...

fastest: opera

reliability: GECKO

(my idea so dont bitch me) :)

At least those morons finally shut up about this being posted earlier. Who gives a **it! If you feel like replying on the topic then answer. If you just want to bitch at people then walk down the street and do it but don't come on here and start whining and try to hijack someone else's posting just because you may have seen the same info elsewhere it's rude and just plain stupid because:

1.) Other people are replying to this posting that may have not came across the other postings yet.

2.) You get to hear different viewpoints from different people.

3.) Just because you may have been on this board longer in no way makes you "God"

4.) If you don't have anything good to say then keep your holes shut

That being said... I am voting for Firefox (Gecko engine) because Micro"Soft" blows donkey A**.

I've been using a combination of opera + ie for a couple of years now.

It's getting annoying that opera doesn't render properly some sites. I did try firefox as beta 0.9 something. The only thing I love about opera is mouse gestures. Very fast. It may sound stupid, but I'm reverting back to ie. Getting bored of sites that don't load properly. I will still keep opera. But for specific tasks.

whom do u think is the best browser, i chose opera it's the fastest, better ui,no active x. I hate mozilla browser  , IE with sp2 is excellent. Vote & tell why.

wait... we are talking about rendering engines aren't we? Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think rendering engines have anything to do with a browser's features, or for that matter, the UI, or active X.

Read more about common rendering engines here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_layout_engines

Have you heard of all-in-one mouse gestures[extension], it does the same thing as opera's

lol...it's like saying "Which religion is better" :pinch:

It's a matter of preference in the real world, yes I know and love gecko because of it's quality standards support, but it's really not that big of a deal when IE has 90% of the market.

Opera and Internet Explorer arent browser engines either

Opera is the only browser to use it's engine, so it's fair to simply say Opera. As far as IE, you're right. I'm assuming the person simply didn't know the code-name for the IE engine though.

    • Why is Opera doing this notification at all? They have their own extension store. They don't have to obey anything dictated by Google. Others like Brave and Vivaldi that rely on Chrome's extension store, not so much. Firefox is entirely separate as well with its own extensions store. I honestly don't understand why entire world is just insisting on Chrome. Like, why? It's a stupid fat browser with barely any functionality. But sure, it's installed on everything by default. I don't understand how people even use web that's filled with tracking garbage and ads all over the place.
    • Just for anyone reading, AdGuard (the free, standalone MV3 extension) is quite good now, a direct competitor to uBlock Origin Lite and much more built-out than it.
