Firefox. But I'll switch to Konqueror if Firefox catches steam.

Then to Amaya [or someother unkown] if Konqueror catches steam.

Them to IE when...

So as longs as it's not the "big huge" one everyone else uses.... I'll use it.

Bah, maybe I'll write my own for a challenge. [good CS project too...]

The safest browser is the one no malicious programmer would bother wasting time to attack. If no one is using it, almost no one will btoher exploiting a flaw.

Look at what he said. He said he'll use it because it's not "the big one". He neither said nor implied anything about security.

And that is BS. Firefox nor Opera will ever be as security-bug-ridden as IE. People attack IE because it's EASY.. not because more people use it.

I vote for standards compliance. So far Gecko (Mozilla Firefox) is my #1 (Y).

Both KHTML (Safari) and Presto (Opera) gets thumbs up. (Y)

BTW, doing a quick Google search, here are the names of common rendering engines:

  • Gecko (Mozilla)
  • KHTML (Safari, Konqueror)
  • Presto (Opera)
  • Trident (MSIE)
  • Tasman (Mac IE)

How does Tasman [Mac IE] do in regards with rendering pages? Is it better than Internet Explorer for Windows?

IE 5.2.3 for Mac OS X is better in some regards than its Windows counterpart. It has full support for CSS1, so if you code your site properly it's not bad.

When it came out it definitely was leaps and bounds better than IE5 for Win. Nowadays it's old skool.

umm.. as far as i can interpret with the limited skills i have acquired at deciphering the english language, i would say that he was not asking the question "which browser is the best?" but rather "which rendering engine is the best/most reliable?"

my vote goes to opera tbh, im using it now, i've used it for a long time, and i will be using it for a long time into the future! (me @ 7.6 tp 4)

      I gave up on browser ad-blocking extensions a few years ago, replaced them with Adguard. Not perfect but overhaul is a nice app that does the job on both Windows and Android with the respective versions.

When they kill that we get to watch Firefox and Brave get a boost in user market share.

      Block by DNS ad blocker! I dare you! I will even layer unlock Origin, on top of my internal DNS, if I need to and I don’t even block ads today (I really should but this type of behavior makes me angry). I suppose I could also just be lazy, and add the flags myself, back to each release (it wouldn’t be that difficult).

      Wonder what MPs have ties to these privacy/verification/data harvesting companies that are going to step in this time. Last time under the Tories half the cabinet had fingers in the pies, heck even the PM and his wife at the time was working for silicon valley, probably made a fortune.
