Doggie
It's very hard to believe in something that you can't see, it's hard too, to believe in God knowing that people, such as Bin Laden and other terrorists can living in peace... so, i think i don't believe... (i hope my english can be understood).
Tesseract
I believe in a higher being. BTW, if there is no God, then what happens when you die? What would your POV look like (what would your see)?

SlowNeasy
Not unless it's a paid day off from work. Those days I'm very devout (well enough to abstain from working).

Tesseract
What I can't grasp is that when you die, how can it be "just the end?" It it is the end, then you will not exist, thus you will not see, hear, feel, taste, or smell. You cannot think or be in a subconscious state. This is one reason why I think that there is a God, and one of the following things happen when you die: 1. You are reincarnated 2. You go to Heaven 3. You go to hell Does anyone have any comments or have anything to add to this?
OrangesOfCourse
i belive life is just a field trip :p we are just here to see stuff.. but we have to go.. we cant stay forever.. but then we go one class higher (if you pass) and come back again on another field trip.. but if you fail.. you dont :D laterz ;)
Keldyn
I do. Once you are dead that is it. There is no afterlife which is more the reason to live your life well. Life is short enough, dont waste it. There are no second chances. This is what we have. Make the most of it.
Chrissssssss
You be talking about one of them soul things. The bit inside me that is actually doing all this looking and ****e through my body. Surely without that we'd all just be robots. Anyway, I said something similar around my dad before, about not just being dead, but he said that when you're asleep you don't know that you are. You don't see or feel anything, unless you happen to be dreaming

What would your POV look like (what would your see)? Nothing. YOU no longer exist. You die, your thinking stops. It is like right before you existed. Weird concept I'm sure... I think this is why a belief in god really exists. There is a necessity to explain what happens AFTER your existence. Of course, you are ENTIRELY entiltled to your opinion. Perhaps I'm just wrong :D

Something must happen once you are dead, IMO. I heard from somewhere that once you die your brain generates a "dream" that seems to last forever to you but actually lasts only a few seconds in real time. EDIT: This "dream" is generated right before you actually die.

No, i just think that the concept of an afterlife is to help us feel better about the notion of death. It gives us hope, that our lives are not futile... hurting101
I hope there is afterlife. Think about it. If you die, you want to be able to think about it. I mean, what if it all happened so fast you didn't know what happened? No time to think, reflect, anything. But you couldn't think of that anyway, if there's no afterlife. Come on afterlife... :)

Tesseract
I think that if there is not an afterlife or reincarnation, but instead you just don't exist, then I compare "nonexistance" to being buried alive or being in a pitch black room.

In this case, though, you would never "wake up."
