I believe in an intelligent creator God.

I also believe in Satan, and that Satan hates God so much that he wants to do everything evil that he can to corrupt God's creation. What better evil to do against God than turn his own creation (us humans) against him to the point of complete and utter disbelief.

If there is no God, and everything just evolved from a big bang and atoms and particles:

why do we have love, hate, fear, prejudice, violence, etc.?

why do we have laws that say killing is wrong?

why is there life and death in the first place?

who came up with the idea for God...and why?

why do we have increasing intelligence and understanding, when animals continue to eat plants and live in the wild, like they've done for thousands of years?

Remember, this is just my opinion

why do we have love, hate, fear, prejudice, violence, etc.?

That are feelings, just like the animals, whe have them, is our nature

why do we have laws that say killing is wrong?

That are ethics, not religions, but, and I must say it, even the real satanist religion forbide the killing of another human

why is there life and death in the first place?

Whe dont need a god to born and die, this is just nature, we cant be immortals

who came up with the idea for God...and why?

The human mind needs to explain the things around itself, the rain, the fire, the sun, etc...

God is just the quick and easy answer

why do we have increasing intelligence and understanding, when animals continue to eat plants and live in the wild, like they've done for thousands of years?

The animals HAVE increasing intelligence to (not all, for sure) whe?re Aniamls with a highly evolutionated brain in fact

I just have this idea:

if satan exist:

he do the dirty work for god

he?s some kind of a Police, applies the punishment to the sinners

he?s the best publicity for god

funny for some (or maybe none) but I repeat, I dont believe in satan, neither god

also (This is serious)

One of my opinions:

God and Satan are just a very simple idea, the classical battle beetwen good and evil, just like in a bad action movie.

The Christian religion is just the most self-contradicted religion (just read the bible itself, one of the pilars in this religion)

If God exists, the religions are the worst method to prove it (God is not = religion)

I think that religion is something used to guide people to living good lives, and to give them hope in troubled times, and nowadays life is easier so more and more people are losing their religion. Until they have trouble in life and are 'born-again'

I think it's a good thing, if it gives you hope and makes you stronger, and helps you live a good life and be good to others then its good. For me personally, I feel I dont need it. I believe in myself and living my life the way I see as being right. I believe in the main principles of christianity, like treating others the way you would want to be treated, and things like that, but I would never live my life based on a guideline like that.

Specifically on God, I believe that there is some power that created everything. The Universe must have been created, or whatever started things in motion, that energy or entity I believe is God.

Winston, you need to be careful of what you are saying there, I know it doesn't seem offending, but different people may be offended.

I believe in Jesus the God of the Bible.

Yeah, well there is scientific proof of some parts of the bible but it seems to me your too young to accept that. But, hey thats your opinion.

For you agnostic peeps who believe in evolution. Evolution is not fact and only micro-evolution has been proven to be fact.

You have the whole rest of your lives to explore this world of ideas and come up with your own conclusion. Maybe most of you teenagers fifty years from now probably will have a different opinion but also may keep the same opinion.

My point basically is to have you guys have an open mind about many kinds of information may it be god, religion, or the big bang for that matter.

i do not believe in god, nor do i follow any type of religion.

i believe that when i am dead, that is what i will be. And i wont care that im dead, because ill be dead. im not afraid of death, because i know that .0000000000000000000000000001 seconds after my death, im not gonna know the difference.

even tho i dont believe in such things, i will someday read the bible, in order to be as educated as i can possibly be, in order to be able to form an even better opinion of my own, of my own beliefs, and so that i can better argue with those people that knock on my door in their white shirts and their neckties ;0

from what i have studdied, and read, and learned, and watched on nova(bahaha).... im related to a whole bunch of different species of mammals that came millions and millions of years before me, and i have nothing against that. the big bang theory is not such a hard thing to grasp, do a quick search on the internet about it, read up a little bit, its pretty interesting.

I am a Christian, but I don't believe in religion. I'm not out to "convert" you - just let me quickly explain myself.

Religion is to follow a set of rules/ideas as precisely as possible. You can religiously support a football team, or religiously study a subject. Being a Christian is about knowing the loving God personally, not following rules.

All Jesus' (pretty radical) teaching I try to follow because I know and love God and that he only wants the best for me. And it works! Like when your mum says to you at the age of 2, "don't touch the cooker" - she's only saying that cos she loves you and doesn't want you to get burnt. That's why I do it. I don't know all the answers.

I don't always know why God allows suffering, but I can see how it can make people stronger. I don't know how the universe started, but I believe that someone must have invented all the laws of physics and created all the particles that caused the big bang in the first place. :ponder:

And yes, I believe in an afterlife, but again, I have no details.

These are hormon triggered activities by your body. But due that the human got some what intelligence and a conscience, time/evolution caused him to live actively with it.
why do we have laws that say killing is wrong?

Based on the instinct of self-reproduction.

why is there life and death in the first place?
Did you ever notice that you're a biological items build from atoms and molecules that reat to each other and is subject of wear?
who came up with the idea for God...and why?

If in early times of earth (like medieval, or the time supposendly BC) noone could explain a phenomenon, it got pushed on a higher being.

Also it's basically the same reason why people create sects. Like Jehova or Scientology.

why do we have increasing intelligence and understanding, when animals continue to eat plants and live in the wild, like they've done for thousands of years?

Not everything did and will evolute at same speed. Ask same question again in the case of the rabbit and the wulf. The rabbit is friggin stupid and is just able to run away, the wulf has a slightly strategic feel. This goes on and on in our nature. We're just the top of it due a hazard.

--edit--

And no, I don't believe in a God. I had nuff to do with (quantum) physics and biology to not believe in such thing. First thing that goes thru my mind when I watch on the way our universe works: "There is no god!"

You're right. It does. Is there any reason why biology, evolution and God cannot all be true? I believe God created all the above, and for all I know, he could have done it through some sort of evolutionary process. The Bible says that it happened, but it doesn't say how. Many Christians believe the seven days to be just symbols of longer time periods.

I am a catholic, and believe that science is a great thing that allows us to improve ourselves. After doing a degree in science I found out during a project that a scientific periodical showed that 50% of scientists in the UK and US are religious, so science and religion can go hand-in-hand (I think it was new scientist this was in).

I also find ideas such as the big bang interesting but they always end with an unsolved problem for which there is no explanation yet.

Common sense, according to many scientists, is the opposite of science and religion also attempts to move your mind from instinct - I think they both are ways of thinking that can improve your mind and by doing this you can live better.

Just my opinion!:)

A simple thought on the BIG BANG theory

Take an empty computer case, throw all the components in you want included, UNASSEMBLED! By this I mean, all the parts on the cards, have to be seperated from the card, all the wiring and so forth, EVERYTHING! Now close the case, and shake it around untill it forms a complete working computer. When THAT happens, you can believe the big bang theory! :bandit:

Big Bang Theory refers to the creation of life and our planet due to an explosion, as opposed to a God.

You should watch out performing experiments like that. God might come in and rig the thing - just to make a point. ;)
