Question about Photoshop

Recommended Posts

I notice a lot of people here say they use Photo Shop for graphics ... how can you afford that??

After years of using PSP trails I'm actually considering buying a graphics suite and with Photoshop being so highly respected, it was my first choice. But ... ?500??? How come so many people here have it? Is there some special deal?

This isn't a question about graphics or how to use this prog, so I didn't think "Graphics" or "Software Assistance" forums were right.

Xain,

I hear ya man.

The majority of people here are kids whose parents bought them their computer, their cars, sent them off to college (if they're even in college yet) and paid for nearly everything for them.

If their parents didn't buy it for them, they simply stole it.

There are a few great people here Xain, that have worked for what they own and have respect for other people's work. So don't let the majority of these kids get ya down.

Well... I think this is a kind of unfair judgement your posing all upon us! Hey, This is a COMPUTER related website. Most people comming here in the forums are, I personaly think, people who just have some kind of passion for computers. Some people have a real passion for cars. I`ve seen janitors rolling in ferrari`s... They didn`t steal the darned thing they have a passion for the car and they worked a long time to buy it and made some sacrifices. It`s the same thing here. If people wanna spend a load of money on their computers and programs to satisfy their passion well let them be! I spend a lot of money on my computer and on programs. I like to keep up to date with my programs and as long as I can live without having debts all over my head well I`ll go one like that!!

Just because there is a high majority of college users on this board, doesnt necessarily mean we're bad people. I'm 17 and i worked hard to buy my own PC by designing websites. If you dont like the community here then f*ck off, there's no need to make grossly over-exaggeratted generalisations which people find insulting.

Actually I think he was referring to the original post, and specifically this line

Wow, did I ever open a can of worms. It's pretty obvious that more than a few people got it with a broadband discount (online version of 5-finger discount), but I didn't think that would be in anyway most of the people here.

Cool down people!

duh haha lol duuuh....I steal software that makes me cool...duhh haha lol hahaha duhhh.

The people you see here in this thread saying that or a derivative thereof are the spoiled kids of which I speak, and the very reason PS costs $500.

umm no, actually the reason that PS costs 500 for the full version is because of the fact that it's not aimed at the general consumer to use, and its geared for a certain market that most likely can easily afford it, same as 3D Studio MAX, Maya and the like.

btw unless you're a squeaky clean chap yourself I'd stfu about what other people are doing cos it's none of your business

the version of PS that i have came free with a scanner. it's a crappy 5.0 LE version, but atleast it ain't warez. if you're lookin' for something like photoshop but don't want to spend the money, go download GIMP...i'm surprised noone else said that yet. it's free and has many of the same stuff photoshop has.

photoshop is definatly aimed towards companys that can buy it and afford it, like pocket change..if you're just a kid and are screwing around with it why in gods name would you buy anything like that? why would you spend 500$ to screw around with how harmful is it if you're 15 and download it i mean jesus..
