TorrentCrawl

Question

I made this program called TorrentCrawl. Basically you can use it to list torrents in a category or search for them. I was wondering what kind of features you guys would like incorporated (what do you like the most from your existing p2p clients?), and if anyone wants to try it.

So here I am testing the waters, what do you all think?

Look at torrentstorm. The idea is good, you have all torrents loaded in the same window, where you can see % completed, speed, seeds, peers and basic info.

Maybe you could implement this, and a double click on the torrent name in that window should pop up a bigger window with all stats.

Maybe you've misunderstood, it's not a download client, it's a search client (although now that you've mentioned it I'm going to add download capability).

Ok. Sorry.

If it is a search client...maybe a wanted-list, if you want a torrent that doesn't exist when you search for it, you can add it to the wishlist.

All items in the wishlist are searhed for each hour, or each 20 minutes or whatever.

Hows about i post it now, instead of promising - http://s8.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=E1A4B4F3...843C94FC7005CB6

if that doesn't work, drop me an email.

Good Job!

What programming language is it?

Just a few things:

* Maybe you can use any other search sites, not just suprnova. Torrentreactor.net for example.

* A resizeable window.

* When I select the torrent type music, I get apps in the results too....

* What I said 4 posts above.

BitTornado says that the torrent file is corrupted whenever I try to open it.

Would you provide a way to specify the download path. I'd like to keep my torrents in a specific directory.

It's not readily apparent what you're supposed to do once the search is complete. You may want to provide some visual cue like a tooltip, or some instructive message to double-click the the torrent you want. I figured it out, but I'm also somewhat technical. Maybe even provide a context menu that presents the user with a choice to save to default location, or a new one.

This'll be quite handy. (Y)
