+Spark99 Subscriber² Posted October 6, 2004 Subscriber² Share Posted October 6, 2004 Norton Internet Security 2005: [ 1 ] $40 with a serial from an older version of any Norton Product @ www.symantec.com [ 2 ] Low System Resources - My 933Mhz Pentium has never run smoother, I hardly notice it's there, even during gaming or Video Encoding [ 3 ] The Firewall is pretty good, turn it off if you don't need it (ie. You have a Hardware or Linux Based Option) [ 4 ] Oh, yeah... includes Norton AntiVirus 2005 Ad Blocking: - Automatic updates add new "Ad Definitions" - Blocks Ads + Pop-ups in All Browsers & Most Shareware Apps System Wide - Does the Best Job of formating the page to look like the ads were never there (some blockers leave a big white rectangle or bend text around an ad thats no longer there) - Low Level Ad Blocking (I run Linux on VMware inside WinXP - No Ads in Linux when running Norton on Host Operating System) - Blocks Spyware (I've tested this and it seems to work fairly well) - Anti-Spam Program integrates seamlessly into Outlook and Outlook Express I've had some problems with Norton Products in the past, and while the 2005 version isn't perfect, I'd have to give Symantec credit for addressing some of the issues that users have been complaing about for years.
