How do you know if you need to replace your computer

Recommended Posts

I have to say, I'd rather be running OS X then windows at the moment.

Your sig seems to sum it up nicely:

"Windows 95 is a 32-bit shell for a 16-bit extension to an 8-bit operating system designed for a 4-bit microprocessor by a 2-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition."

I think that applies to windows in general...

Fair opinion, I can see how mac would be a piece of **** for you. I don't upgrade my comps at all. I don't build my PC's either, if I did I wouldn't be getting a Mac either.

My only Comp i have is a laptop, in fact thats the only PC I've ever had, so I'm sure you know where I stand on upgrading PC's

1. When demos you download or get on CD are too slow

2. when the computer does not boot. (end of story)

3. when hardware/software to upgrade is more expensive than the computer itself

4. when your cell phone/palmtops processor is faster than the one your computer has

5. when your childs playschool computer has a faster processor than the one your computer has

Same here, when the school computers are the same specifications as mine, I should be concernd.

In addition, if the specifications made by Microsoft of their new operating system is higher then mine, then I would.

In fact I would need to now with my slow processor.:ponder:

You should replace your computer every 18 months according to Moore's Law. Then once Moore's Law doesn't work anymore you would probably have to wait until the nano-technology is twice as fast as your computer. :o
