How do you like to study?

Listening to classic music will really help you get concentrated. The stress problem is cured faster by listening to classic music rather than rock ones :)

It's true and sometimes work on me :D

Classical always have helped me when I'm typing essays for school. Although I lost my CD. Can somebody give me a list of classical songs I should download.

I never had a problem studying in school until this year, senior year @ HS. For some reason I always have a hard time starting. I procrastinate a bit too much in AP Calc & Phys class, maybe it's b/c the class is a bit difficult.

I hope that my study habits are changed in the fall for college. I'll keep myself in the school library if I have to.

Anyways, I'm on my spring break vacation this week, should I be studying?

Read over what I need to know, then go do something I enjoy, then go back and quiz myself/get someone else to quiz me on the information I need/think i should know and repeat until I can recall the information from my mind.. kinda weird but it works for me. Holding a 90+ average since as early as I can remember(finishing off grade 10 now)

But probably the best way to study is to get up at 5 in the morning, 3 days before the test and study until 7ish, then go to school, and when you come home read over the information once and get someone to quiz you/have a mock test, and repeat until the day of the test.. drink water a lot too while studying, great to keep your brain alert and active. Or you could use your time to dispise a way to cheat the test, but I am too lazy for that, the knowledge might do me good some decade.

Blare up the music on my Winamp 3 and just keep my focus on my books! I also take longer times with the more important and difficult parts, but now that spring has sprung, I'd exercise every hour or so!

I find during tests when I try to think back, I just go blank. I can't think. I either know it or I don't, thinking won't help me :(

The most important thing in a test I think is to relax and breathe. That got my thru a test I forgot about and didn't know how to do anything.

It's been so long since I've posted a message on Neowin.net. By the time I have a chance to sit down and use the computer for my personal time I don't get much further than typing www.neowin.net before I fall asleep in my chair. I'm just about finished with year 1 of Medical School @ USF (University of South Florida) College of Medicine and am usually too tired to eat or too grossed out too eat from gross anatomy and the like. Let me tell you one thing if you hate to study don't even think about going to medical school. You say you hate to study well you can't hate to study until you have to study 60 to 100 hours a week for the first year and the next three to follow after that. But from what I heard there if you pass the first year you have a 99.9 % chance of graduating medical school. I apolagize for bad grammar or mispelled words but this is the last place I really care about that since most of the time I'm here is after a big test which was right after a 100 hour week in classrooms and labs so I'm pretty much suprised that I am typing this well. I want to do skull based operations one day but will be practicing mostly in Neurosurgery for children or also known as Pediatric Neurosurgery. I'll post replies tommorrow but if I don't get some sleep now I don't think I ever will if you know what I mean. Oh by the way if you saw my previous posts where I said I'm 21 years old well than you're still right I started USF @ 15 years of age and then completed graduate school during my 19th and 20th birthdays and then started Medical school just a little bit after my 20 birthday and am know halfway from my 22nd birthday with one year of Medical school completed with 3 more to go so you can assume I'm pretty much a geek since high school. You assumed right if you thought that and I went to private school for my one year of high school (12 grade year) while pass skipping 9th, 10th, and 11th grades.

I already have a debt know of 150,000 dollars (4 years + graduate school) + about 100,000 dollars for this first year of medical school but hell I don't know how the price breakdown is during the 4 years of medical school goes so this is not even an educated guess. But to put It short once I do graduate and start working as a doctor I'll be paying back one hell of a debt.

You're not alone. Happens to me, and almost everyone I know. I hate how my eyes move across the words so my brain doesn't notice I'm thinking about something else. By the time I come to, I gotta read all over again :(

Usually with suitable music on and re-reading the same section over again or in a liabary where nobody can disturb you. Ask yourself again after a good nights sleep on what you tried to study the day before and if you can recall, you have done a good job. if it is a bit hazy then revise again.

really the best way for me is to do it everyday so it does not pile up at the end for a large exam. So, for me, revision at the end of every school day and revise on what you had learned on that day or the topic. This, I was told, is the best way as it will stick in your head for longer and that you are really not under pressure to get it done. If you can put your points into plain and clean bullet points this can dramatically be remembered. Trying into inter-connect each topic you have learned with other past topics can help you greatly as each idea will keep comming to you as you think of one thing.

Possibly have a piece of food or a beverage with you as you revise.
