matt11601
Here's my home network setup: First floor of house: 1 Computer connected to router (router in basement) Basement: 1 client + 1 server + xbox + lapop connected to linksys 16-port hub My problem is when using my client comp in the basement the transfer rates are amazingly slow. Ex: i'll log on my local ftp server and try to download a file from the first floor comp and it DL's at 30 KB/s!!!!! But When sending a file to the first floor comp I get a speed of 1.1 MB/s (which is still slow for Cat5 but better) I seriously have no idea where to begin when trying to fix this problem. I have plugged my server + basement comp into different ports and still no luck. Something is seriously off with my basement comp and it's the comp I use all the time. I have no idea what's wrong. My drivers are up to date for the NIC and every wire is straight through. Any ideas or network tests I can do? Thanks. -Matt
