Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 Service Pack 1

Recommended Posts

Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 Service Pack 1 (SP1) contains the latest software updates for Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 that improve the reliability, performance and manageability of Virtual PC. Updates have been made to improve the performance of Windows XP Service Pack 2 as a guest in Virtual PC, to improve the manageability of virtual machines when used with SMS 2003 Service Pack 1, and to provide support for running Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition as the host operating system.

Some of the fixes included with SP1 have been previously released as separate updates. This service pack combines them into one update.

Cool. Gonna go update my work computer now. :)

Oh, and don't anybody ask about how to slipstream Service Pack 1 into Virtual PC 2004! Not every service pack can be slipstreamed! :pinch:

Edit: Alright. I just found out something interesting. Apparently, you can create a slipstreamed version of Virtual PC 2004 SP1. :o

Copy the Virtual PC cd into a folder. Such as D:\VPC. Unzip the sp1 update. Open a command prompt and change to SP1 directory and execute this command " Msiexec.exe /a "Microsoft Virtual PC 2004.msi" TARGETDIR=D:\VPC /qb " it will update the original to sp1.

Edit: I should have tested it. Doesn't work. It integrates the update into the folder, but if you try to install, it stops and says you don't have VPC2004 installed. I also tried adding in the "PIDKEY= product key" section and it still didnt work.

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion after I tried it out, but unfortunately I couldn't edit my post any more, and I have this policy of not posting twice in the same thread in a row.

    • So is Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, just to mention a few. What's your point? Everyone is a threat from their enemies' perspective. I'd say that Israel is only a threat to their immediate enemies like Hamas, Hezbollah and the Iranian regime, not to anyone else.
    • The government is not the good guy either. You propose 99% of people require that the government overreach and govern their freedom of information and privacy, while ignoring the government is made up 100% of people, of which 99% are (as you described) brain dead. You can't have both. The reality is Signal is absolutely right and the government is doing what it has always done. Ignoring that we are their boss and grabbing all the power they possibly can to make sure we aren't. Your (societies) ###### parenting is not reason enough as to why I can't have a safe platform for my data/information. Thinking the government is helping is precisely what they are targeting psychologically to take suckers like you for a ride. "Think of the children" was, has, is, and will always be a mechanism of control. In the rare occasion it's actually essential the mass consensus has always been there and it doesn't become a debate.
