Dead Messiah
The other day in my Western Civilization class my teacher said he?s going to teach us about Nero, I was like what!?! Thing is Nero was a Caesar (emperor) of Rome, whose story is quite interesting so I thought I?d post it here... Nero?s step-father was a Caesar of Rome but Nero?s mother thought that her son would make a much better Caesar than her husband so she thought of a way for him to be murdered. It the end Nero ended up taking his step-father?s life and claiming the role of Caesar of Rome. His mother wanted to be by his side and have some power over Rome, Nero took this as a threat and killed her. Though-out Nero?s life he killed two of his wives, one of his male lovers, and countless other Romans. For enjoyment Nero would walk the streets of Rome at night and mug women and break into stores. Nero loved music, so much in fact that he demanded that he be able to sing in a coliseum in front of thousands of people. He sounded horrible but no one dared to tell him because they knew it would be the final thing that they said. Nero decided to burn down almost all of Rome so he could have it rebuilt. When the Romans saw what was happening they asked for answers, Nero told them that Christians started the fires. So eventually after making enough people mad he ran away but was later found. He decided to take his own life but he was too scared to do it. So he kindly asked one of his slaves to disembowel him, and surely he did what his master asked for. I don?t know if all the information is 100% correct because I got this from my notes from a movie we watched on him? I just thought that was an interesting story behind the name of the best CD burning software out there. Nero ? Burning Rom  -Dead Messiah

dARKSTAr
The story goes that Nero "fiddled while Rome burned" which has been popularized many times through art, movies, etc. This is supposedly erroneous, it has been said many times that he was actually singing. You can find out more about Nero here: http://www.electriciti.com/garstang/emperors/nero.htm btw, if you think Nero was bad, he had a far worse uncle... Caligula Compared to Caligula, Nero was a nice guy.
K-LineD
In fact I think that Nero Burning Rom got the name after Nero Caesar of Rome could burn everything he wanted. A good analogy for a burning program.

A good analogy for a burning program. Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, is commonly known simply as Nero. So it seems your point and Dead Messiah's are one in the same. very cool place to attain the name for a burning program....for sure.
