mariusu
here's what i've found here at neowin few weeks ago: The easiest way: First of all, get Resource Hacker from http://www.rpi.net.au/~ajohnson/resourcehacker/ Then, in Explorer, go to C:WINDOWSInstaller{90280409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0050048383C9} (Not visible, paste that in to the address bar). Then, open the exe file corresponding to the program you want to change the icons for Access accicons.exe Excel xlicons.exe Frontpage fpicons.exe and misc.exe Outlook outicon.exe Powerpoint pptico.exe Word wordicons.exe To replace the icons, in Resource Hacker, go to Action -> Replace Icon, choose which icon you want to replace from the right-hand side list and click 'Open file with new icon'. Navigate to and choose the icon you want to replace it with, click Replace. Save it and Bob's your uncle. No messy shortcuts or need to change file type icons manually.
