Question

I was just wondering... would you download (and crack) commercial controls to use with your applications? I mean... applications you do just for learning propuses where you would distribute them as freeware to anyone and you would (or not) distribute the source code but this one would be an option... it's like, it's freeware, you are not making any profit from your application. you just want it to have a nice look and use some neat controls that are out there...

For instance, would you pay $189 for DotNetBar (www.devcomponents.com/dotnetbar) to use on a simple application that you are only doing for yourself or to distribute it as freeware?

Just wandering what you guys think. I would download them, crack them and use them in my freeware applciations that I would release to the public...

Not a chance in hell. Pirating software is one thing to them (read: still wrong), but pirating their controls and redistributing them with your (free) app can get you in a ton of trouble.

Why do you need to use them anyway? You could always write your own, and if you enjoy programming, that is always an option.

because the free ones are not as much customizeable as the other ones...

it's an option... but that's far far way beyond my programming skills to do controls like the dotnetbar... i''m not that good... i'm not even good enough

#EDIT

if you are going to flmae me and hate me because I do what I do then you can kiss my ass and go to hell... call me whatever you wich I don't give a **** to what you think about me, that's a reason why mankind is doomed... people like you that judge other people by the most stupied things... I pirate software, I do, so what? you think that's wrong? fine, don't do it... if you are rich enough to buy the software you use, good for you, you live well, you live in a country where that's possible...good for you, you live well and in a country where that's possible... I don't, and if you lived here you would be pirating everything too, you don't have a clue how life's so expensive around here so don't talk and don't judge me about what you don't know...

You know what I have installed? I actually don't have many stuff... but just name it and I have it around here somewhere on cd... I probably never installed it but I have it... so ****ing what?

and one more thing... all that just proves what piece a **** you are... I just made a simple question and almost all of you just started to criticise me for the most stupidiest thing you could have criticise me for

99% of custom controls out there are for pure GUI good looks anyway! is your programming ability so bad that you have to disguise it with a nice interface? think about it from that point of view. DO YOU REALLY NEED THEM!? ;)

well... I'm just a basic programmer, nothing much and it's not about being good or bad, I know they are pure gui looks, that's why I like them. I like to do things that look good... and talking about the controls only. Nope, I don't REALLY need them... :) but it's always a nice addition...

If you live in an environment that makes it hard to pay for expensive software, maybe you should think about just how much you "need" such software. Maybe you should spend more time in the real world instead of on the computer, making a better life for yourself.

Just a thought...

This is going to get out of control soon, I can tell. You have your poll results, do what you will.
