StimpyX
Let's see: You start a poll on an issue that hinges on ethics and morality, then try to command everyone to avoid the religious aspects in it. Me thinks you have a seriously false belief that you can actually control a mob...
username
Hey, lets play the "make the longest thread game." Do you guys who post these just think of common debated subjects and get a kick out of everyone who posts? It seems to be the big fad going around this site. Try www.eopinions.com or some other non computer related site for this stuff because I am getting sick of it.
Osiris
Hey I think this is a fair post, this is a good one Religion and all that other Holy stuff doesnt have to be brought into it. He was just asking whats everyones view on it. I think on its face its a pretty valid question, its certainly relevant in todays society, as many 3rd world countries allow testing on animals for the large companies that exploit the low costs and workfoces in those areas. Glowstick
You have a choice: Either you test it on humans or you test it on animals.

semifamous
Do the animals get to study for this test like students do? :) No? Well that's not very fair, is it? Besides, some of the "testing" they do is kinda extreme. One study (a while ago) into NutraSweet proved that if you inject it into rat's brains, their brians get pockets and holes a lot like swiss cheese bubbles, thus proving that if people chew gum with NutraSweet in it, their brain will decay.... riiiiiiiiight... How is injecting something *anything* like ingesting something? Huge difference. Some tests are just stupid. (Edit) That doens't mean I'm against animal testing... I wouldn't want them running similar tests on people either. I'm just against stupidity. DOWN WITH STUPID PEOPLE! :)
postertoad
Our basic rational for being able to experiment on animals is that they "lack" the same conscouness as a human being. Unfortunately this is not really the case. There are plenty of humans who do not have the same mental capacities of a say a rat or a monkey. It would be more reasonable and ethically sound to do our experiments on people in coma's, seriously mentally handicapped, etc...
