Evolution, 2 cents.

Where is the 'scientific' case against evolution? Hear say and religious opinions don't count as science, so far as I know.

The cool thing about science and those who understand it, is that it doesn't claim to know everything and there is still a lot of things to be explained. Religion relies on people accepting that everything is the way it is, cos god made that way, wow how clever.

You are right. My post is slighty off-topic. It has nothing to do with evolution. All I was trying to do is to get everyone to shut up about the whole "World is flat" thing that everyone wants to talk about which also has nothing to do with this.

"1500 years ago, everybody knew that Earth was the center of the universe. 500 years ago, everybody knew that Earth was flat and 15 minutes ago you knew humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow..."

~Agent K, Men In Black

(Yes, I know it's fiction...)

Well this is how I have come to accept evolution as the mechanical workings of life, and creationism as the philosophy as the origin, NOT PROCESS, of life in this universe. The big bang theory is circled around the idea that in the beginning of time and matter, there was a point of singularity. Now, the key to existence, life, and time itself, is energy. Energy is the driving force behind everything, and as we understand it, can not be made, nor destroyed; but only transferred from one form of existence, to another. If you look at the universe like a cone cup, the root behind everything is an infinite amount of energy in its PUREST FORM. So it is my only personal opinion that this infinite energy, which is the root behind thought, the root behind process, the root behind existence, the root behind life, death, light, water, this in itself is a self containing existence that can only be understood through the humans eyes as one of us. Since we are so simple, to relate to such complex and infinite understanding is impossible in our form of energy, and when we die, our life does not disappear, but is only transferred into another existence, as part of the circle of infinite energy. (Or was some would like to call it, heaven)

So in the end, evolution has nothing to do with creationism, there not even on the same plane.

If anybody knows what say'n give this thread a holla.

Yup, maybe there is just no reason at all why you're here. Do you feel useless if this would be the case?

The only meaning to life is what you give to it. One can only live life to the best way they know how.

Then don't call it science then. And don't use my tax $$$ to teach this stuff in schools as a proven a fact.

Maybe you should spend your money on getting some professional mental help? You really need it.

Who created the creator? Afterall things just don't happen out of the blue, as you just stated. A normal rational human being doesn't waste their time in such nonsensical questions.

This is why I'm all for saying that no creator-figure can be a conscious being. I define the 'Creator' as the order of the universe. The system, the way it all works. The instincts and tendencies of lifeforms and influences and interactions of non-lifeforms. Everything builds on each other and makes new things, growing or shrinking, breaking down or putting together.

Hell, I'm so turned off by the idea of a conscious Creator figure, that I'm more likely to believe Sitchin's theories of creation (Nibiru, genetic alterations, etc) than pop-Christian theories.

its a little hard to fight over evolution when 3/4 of the people who are debating don't even understand it.... atleast scientists read religious theories on creationism and don't just toss it out the window..

Evolution is when a genetic trait is gained through adaption is passed on to their offspring geneticly.

Lotsa people seem to be dismissing evolution as impossible to to the lack of "evidence" I assure that if scientist were given as much time as religious fanatics have had to manufacture the creationists dream there would a lot of proof that evolution does exist.

the thought that a 200 year period of viewing life on earth to judge weather evolution occurs or not is insane... especially when the earth is billions of years old.

its like trying to judge the intelligence of humans from a single person living in chinatown newyork.
