(this means when he found out about it being Canadians, I'm sure it ate him up real well) D. Crap like this will always happen as long as there is a human factor in combat. E. Don't say crap unless you have lived it! The problem with most reporters and civilians is they have no friggen clue about what goes on in combat. I bet you anything the fellow soldiers were upset that it happened but I guarantee the Canadian soldiers have no ill will towards ours. Being killed by a friend is not as bad as by an enemy. For a friend will feel remorse, and an enemy feels pride. Lt Col. Robert Halenn (U.S.A.F Ret.) Thank you Lt. ,well put. The burials started today for the 4 men, I am not Military but will be at two of them to show support to the familys as a Canadian. Canadians are a proud bunch and it goes even further in the Atlantic Proviences. We appreciate our men and women in the Military, As a Navy brat I have insight in the life of a Military family. Civilians who have not expericed the Military life or have no direct contact with members, have no idea of what goes on. But as Canadians we have he right to voice our opionion!! Thats why our forces are right beside the US in this conflict. The US was attacked and as our closest neighbour and allies we where asked to aid the US. WE DID!! If the attack on the Twin Towers happened in Canada we would in turned ask the US for aide this is what friends do!!! For those who feel iits "not our fight" then thnk of this.... If you saw a bully beating up a lady on the street would you aide her?? If your neighbours house was burning would you help him out?? If you answered yes then you know why we are involved with this conflict. If you answered no... YOUR NOT A PROUD CANADAN!!! We do not have the biggest Military in the world, we are not even considered a super power. But one thing we do have is respect on the world front!!! And we have never dropped of the top 10 best places to live in the world.....
Phil K
Look I dont like pouring fuel onto a fire, but Americans military DO have a habit of "friendly fire" incidents. There certainly SEEMS to be too much of a gung ho attitude. We Brits have more than a couple of occasions in the Gulf war had a number of our people killed by American pilots who didnt bother to check (even with a British flag on the tanks concerned !) And of course the digraceful affair when a prat of a pilot last year showing off flying under a cable car in Italy brought a cablecar down killing civilian men women and children. Its something that rarely happens with other forces. Its not right to brand everyone of course. But its even more daft (and highly offensive, and furthermore plays into the hands of, and brings delight to, your enemies) saying the equivalent of "tough ****". neos
I saw this cartoon in my local paper, which I think makes a goods point. Right Here I cant say I'm angry with the USA because I know it was an accident, a very unfortunate one at that. God Bless Canada
Odyssey
While I was saddened by the loss of our soldiers (one was from my area), to add insult to injury, I found it disturbing that the Detroit fans at the Detroit vs. Vancouver game would boo the Canadian national anthem, days after the accident. Booing an anthem is completely disrespectful, especially after such an incident.

MulletRobZ
Once I heard of the news, I was completely outraged! I never thought this could happen! Then again, the Canadians accidentally bombed an American sub once in WW2 and the Germans did an error by shooting every boat headed to allied ports even the Lusitania in WW1! I even laughed once I heard the Canadians booing the American anthem at the hockey game! What I believe is that the American influence should be stopped and every nation should have its fair share! :)
bayrider
i havent read the comments above me but im positive theres something brewing... i just wanted to say that, as a Canadian and as a Human its not right to kill people nor do i condone actions that do. my condolences go out to the victims, if the americans felt threatened from gunfire and so on, they did what they had to do, which is defend themselves, but if it was to test out the new toys or something that wackjob Bush had in his head, those actions are unjust
