I saw on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno weeks ago, and she was on it, and she sang live, no lipsync. She sound horrible though compare to the CD version. Wonder why she has to lipsync for SNL.Plus its no big deal to sound horrible live, I know a lot of more respectable singers that are horrible live also.

I don't really care about the lip synching. To me that is acceptable at a major live event like SNL when you want to sound perfect. Unfortunately it didn't work out too well. I really do think this will actually boost her career though. I mean everyone has been talking about this for two days now, so she just needs her PR people to spin this into some kind of positive and she is sitting on a publicity goldmine.

I know a lot of more respectable singers that are horrible live also.

You ... ... Heresy! . Respectable ... that are Horrible Live ... No ...

SOAD = good live

Descedants of Cain = good live

Eric clapton = good live

.... good people are good live, now lets see whats horrible live

Busted = ... **** wherever they are

S club or.. sum off shot = horrible live.. i expect.. wudn't kno, they prob lip sync tho

Boy band # 1 = horrible live (when not lip syncing)

now i don't know if Syncing is spelt correctly, but I do know that the only bands horrible live are manufactured, and therefore NOT respectable... if you like good charlotte or something then fine... i have no respect for your opinion, but if you can name a band thats good, that you like, and give me an example of a similar good band thats horrible live....

neway on topic? --- pop artists shud be shot without exception, they're money shud be taken and used to fund the Culling of Trevs (neds, scallies, townies, chav scum)

Did anyone just see her on the Radio Music Awards? She just said the cause of it was because she has severe acid reflex and moments before the show she just happened to loose her voice.

Today Show

Tune in to the TODAY SHOW tomorrow morning,

Tuesday, October 26th.

Ashlee Simpson sits down with Katie Couric to discuss her

Saturday Night Live performance.

From her webpage. Hey, I was curious! I was reading her forum, some are saying that she lost her voice that day and had to lipsync! :laugh:

Shmucks.

Haha, that's hilarious. :laugh:

Edit: I also have acid reflux, it doesn't cause you to lose your voice and there are several medications that completely cure it. :rofl:

I can't believe all you b*tches are making a big deal out of nothing.  It is not uncommon for people to prerecord their "live" tv performances.  This is especially true for pop singers.  The AV nerd ****** up, not Ashlee.  She went off stage because she was shocked and at a loss for what to do.  Remember she's young and new to the business.  It's not like she's a veteran so I don't blame her for losing her cool in the moment.  As for her dancing, she said she was dancing a "hoe down".  Obviously she was trying to make light out of the situation.  So many of you Neowin guys need to get over yourself.  And no, I'm not a fan of Ashlee Simpson so don't say that's my reason for defending her.  It's just that a lot of you need to grow up.

Dude, it doesn't matter who messed up. She was exposed and that is what matters. She is a disaster. Perhaps some of us need to grow up, but it is nice to know that people are offended by low talent bimbos and appreciate the real thing.

Heck it was on ABC World news tonight....

they played the "questionable" clip of her and her booting off stage... Then a clip of her after the show... "sorry my BAND started playing the wrong song" so she dissed her band too...

Nice... Classic move, she will have a hard time recovering from this....

This will never go away, maybe a job in the fast food market is next... :rolleyes:

Lucky Magazine Interview:

LM: What are your takes on lip-synching?

AS: I'm totally against it and offended by it. I'm going out to let my real talent show, not to just stand there and dance around. Personally, I'd never lip-synch. It's just not me.

Whahaha. I like how she lip synced, and then started just dancing around. Stupid baich.

Haha, that's hilarious.  :laugh:

Sounds like you've never had a serious case of acid reflux, or actually have had it at all. I've had damage done to my vocal chords from it, and it took some time to heal. Yes, it can cause your throat to become very irritated/raspy, even loosing your voice. Some of the medications have side effects that are worse than what they are trying to fix. Frankly I could care less whether or not she did / didn't lipsync, it'll be long forgotten in a week or two.

@ QuantumTrickery: I have it, and take Prevacid for it. I had it several years before I was diagnosed. You are probably right about it screwing with your throat and vocal chords, but in my experience it has never affected my voice. Either way, she was caught and if she does in fact have acid reflux I'm sure she has good health insurance. :yes:

    • Wonder what MPs have ties to these privacy/verification/data harvesting companies that are going to step in this time. Last time under the Tories half the cabinet had fingers in the pies, heck even the PM and his wife at the time was working for silicon valley, probably made a fortune.
    • Google Chrome is killing all uBlock Origin bypasses, Microsoft Edge, Opera to follow by Sayan Sen For a while now the transition away from Manifest V2 (MV2) to MV3 has been on-going and it looks like it is entering its final phase of deprecation, at least, in the case of Google Chrome. A recent discussion thread in the w3c WebExtensions Community Group GitHub repo has highlighted how the latest and upcoming versions of the most popular browser are expected to be its final releases with support for MV2 extensions. Chromium contributor Andrey Bershanskiy shared details about recent Chromium changes and according to comments from Google engineer Devlin Cronin, Chrome has now started removing the flags that previously controlled MV2 availability. kExtensionManifestV2Disabled, the Chromium feature flag that allowed controlled disabling of MV2 add-ons, is now completely removed, which means you will likely no longer find uBlock Origin in your browser extensions list. He wrote: "The kExtensionManifestV2Disabled feature has been default-enabled for over a year. Remove the feature and the effectively-dead code. ... Any tests that relied on being in the "warning" phase (i.e., with the kExtensionManifestV2Disabled) for their sole behavior testing are removed, since this stage is no longer reachable." Cronin further explained why MV2 extensions are no longer allowed in supported Chrome versions as maintaining the associated functionality indefinitely is no longer possible. He cited growing technical difficulties and implementation complexities as well as security concerns. He wrote: "MV2 extensions are no longer allowed in any supported version of Chrome, and we are removing support for them and the associated functionality. We won't be able to provide / maintain this functionality indefinitely due to the complexity and tech debt, as well as the security risks it entails (we've actually found a number of bugs that are specific to MV2 lately). Of course, other browsers can continue supporting these if they so desire. Unfortunately, we won't be putting code behind a compilation flag ... We won't be removing all the MV2 code wholesale right away, so many of these things will continue working for awhile (but they will go away eventually, and some may go away sooner than others)." What this essentially means is that the tricks and bypasses that were used to keep MV2 extensions like uBlock Origin and others alive will not work any more on Chrome, or at least not for very long. For example the Windows Registry mod that could extend MV2 availability will cease to function after Chromium version 151. Here is a rundown of the changes coming in the final such releases of Chromium releases: Chromium 150 lost ExtensionManifestV2Disabled option Chromium 151 will loose ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported option Chromium 151 will loose ExtensionManifestV2Availability option Chromium 151 will likely loose AllowLegacyMV2Extensions option Other Chromium-based browsers like Opera and Microsoft Edge could soon follow suit too. Although it is not specified, Edge began disabling uBlock Origin back in February, and Opera could also stop the functioning of MV2 add-ons, even though it had committed to support MV2 for longer in October 2024. uBlock Origin developer Raymond Hill (gorhill) apparently stated the following: "For Opera I did submit 1.70.0 rather late, but this was weeks ago. A while ago I received an email from Opera that they plan to abandon MV2-based extension so maybe they are no longer allocating resources for reviewing such extensions." The email which developers like Gorhill mentions was received from Opera last year. Here is what it seemingly said: Hence for now the only Chromium browser that seems to be on-board fully with MV2 support is Brave, and perhaps Vivaldi as well. Meanwhile if you want to ditch Chromium browsers entirely then Mozilla Firefox is an excellent alternative as MV3 and MV2 are both supported. Of course the easiest solution is to switch to uBlock Origin Lite if you want to remain on Chrome, as it is MV3-based, but from our experience, uBO Lite does not seem to be as good as the original non-Lite version. • Write to your MP 😄 Like believing in Santa. Total surveillance IS the goal. Wake up.
    • This whole dumb age verification thing needs to die and be replaced by giving parents tools to control devices. Why am I required to plaster my ID all over the internet to prove I'm old enough when parents should be the ones dictating what their kids are doing on their phones. Apple released great set of tools for iPhones coming to iOS 27 that do just that. Why are governments not mandating that kind of control to phone makers to built them into phones. This whole thing is so absolutely idiotic it's wild.
