Where are the Powertoys?

Recommended Posts

Well i'll probably not get the new one. The older one sounds better with auto log on, if that's what's gonna be missing. I like that option very much. The one that works for 9x still works with XP, and i downloaded the XP version and it works too. If i change a setting in one, it has the same changes in the other when i open it. So both might as well be one. The only difference, the 9x is "installed" in the control panel while the XP version got put in the programs folder. I don't know if it's good to have both, but it's never effected my comp as far as i know.

I don't know why it's such a big deal. It's just the auto log on feature. EVERYONE should be able to get it no matter the version of windows you have.

I check 4-5 times a day for the release. Plus I set it up so I get sent an email saying when the page has changed. 9 more days till the end of april, cant wait.

From what I hear the only reason the pulled them was a SMALL security problem with the AutoLogin of TweakUI

The new release is supposed to correct this and this only.

But, this is just what I heard.

If it is some minor fix, I'm gonna just give MS the big ol finger and say screw you cuz there products and support is nothing but bull.

New dates **** me off for thing i look forward to. Although im thinking power toys is gonna be a load of crap unless they put in something completely new.

It isn't the end of the month. Don't get your panties in a knot. If it isn't out by then, which it won't be, then go and complain. I doubt anyone is even working on it at the moment as microsoft is very busy preparing a phony, non-modular OS for the U.S. justice department.

that version number would be the version of whatever program they used to package the powertoys

and the auto-login feature is a reg tweak, if they do remove it from TweakUI (most likely) you can still find it on regedit.com

EXACTLY what i was gona say.

All TweakUI does is tweak the registry, if they remove anything from it then just search through the registry yourself.

not really, i mean the mp3 player was not a registry tweak but a dll

Re-read what i said, then re-read what you said. Then delete your post :p

EDIT: To clarify, what I said is that all TWEAKUI does is alter the registry, TweakUI is a powertoy as is the audio player, they have nothing to do with each other.
