Xis The Australia ADSL Provider

Recommended Posts

Hi My Name is Graham

i have payed to get ADSL put on

i faxed the Applications to Xis in March

and now it has been processed

and they said i was going to be connected Last Week What a Joke

i try and get info from the callcenter about it and they just say we will call you back on it. Which in the End They did not call back now

i rang and said where is our modem they said we do not know what a joke

Will the reason why iam ****ed off about this is because Xis Have not phoned us or Emailed us with a update about what is happening with our ADSL

They have taken $700 out of the bank

Now when they do that they should send the **** out to us the modems but no the damm wait

:devious::disappoin :mad:

Hiya Graham. I can sympathise with you on this one. I had a similar experience. Truth be known, Australian broadband is a joke. I think Telstra takes the cake though on this one. It took them three months just to process my application. Mind you, i had resubmitted the damn thing another three times. (it got lost they tell me). Then the damn techs screwed everything up when they configured my line at the exchange. When i finally got my modem it was faulty. That was another month spent waiting...and they wanted to charge me for a new one too!!

Their tech support is abysmal. Every day its the same problem. Authentication errors, drop outs... its a wonder i am ever able to get online at all. Right now i am calling them on a daily basis and it is the same old excuse. Oh , we have techs working on the problem. Sheesh...its been an on going problem for months. Get it right people!! Just a few weeks back they managed to delete everything i had on my personal webspace the morons. WHy dont i change providers you ask? Because down here in Adelaide this is really all i have to choose from. Telstra is a monopoly and as an ISP, they just plain suck....:right:

Yeah pretty much Australia has no Broadband network, Australia is in the 3rd world when it comes to internet connectivity, and even if you do get broadband in Aus, its capped, it has a 3gig download limit

when you have broadband 3 gig can be downloaded at moderate use, in a week if that. and on top of that its still outrageously high prices just for capped downloads/uploads/download limit

What about satellite? It's not suitable for games due to its hi latency, but here it's quite cheap at 30? per month. Too bad I need low latency for my UT games:(:(

xis is good, if you're in the right location. i know the owner and he told me not to sign up because comindico hasn't got enough ports where i'm at.. but it's hella good value.. but that doesn't say much for their business plan :ermm:

i'll refer him to this post, if you'd like

Graham i feel for you man, i know what its like waiting and then some company gives your some old techie problems.

If you dont get it soon, if you payed by credit card, do a recharge.

Yeah I also got Optusnet cable. Very impressive service. I'm still on 14 days grace period where I can download as much as I want. For $75 a month and $225 once only installation with 12 months contract, no wonder Optusnet is Aussie's best broadband isp yet. I feel sorry for you, winxpman...but if you could get Optusnet, you will say goodbye to ADSL :D

Yeah they might be all fun and dandy if they actually had cable in the cities. I mean im in a city here, the twin cities, the place that was 2nd in line for the nations capital, okay a nice threiving and growing city on the border of NSW and VIC, yet do we have acess to it nooo. What the hells the deal with that is what im forced to ask.

Well the only best Broadband service in Australia is Optus, Telstra is the worst, they are f###ed up, 3GB a month for a broadband adsl ? what a joke.

That's not enough.

heya people

im with Internode on a 1.5/256 with 8gig a month plan for 200 a month, its pretty pricey but they dont count uploads so its not too bad for the speed im getting.

You aussies read whirlpool.net.au? Best source of information for broadband news.

Internode are by far the best ISP providing home DSL service, and they are based in Adelaide.

Never had an outage or a single problem so far.

xis have screwed me about too...

I thought a reasonably priced ADSL in Australia was too good to be true..

I was told 1 price when i signed up, then they wanted more, then it changed again..

i still dont know how much they want as they do not return email or phone calls.

their tech support cant even tell me the diff between the various modems etc they offer...they can just tell me the price ( well, thats a change)..

seems that thier dialup service has broken too..

20-30 phone calls to connect, starting to be disconnected every few hours or so too.

ahh well, just like the rest of em...lol..

heh dont even go to whirlpool.net.au

The people there are dum as a dead dog. They think they know everything but when it comes to it, they are just people that read from a "how to use windows for dummys - part 10 - super dummy gold edition" book. :lick:

And then they go on about trying to break the 18gig adverage user limit. In the end its just going to make optus lose money and change to a hard 3gig plan. :right:

Then there are people that dont want to pay $70 for optuscable becuz they dont use it good enought. OMG They can always go to telstra and other cable isp's that offer 3gigs for about $50 or even better there is a big one around that is $29month and only pay for downloads.  :right:

Sometimes these people make me want to bash them. :devious:

heh not everyone there is like that, just 90.9% of them.
