nexx
We have Mozilla on all our PC's and MAcs at uni. Hopefully now that firefox is at 1.0 we'll see it popping up :)
wutang01
It is only installed on one of the five computer rooms at my school. I'm the Assistant Web Page Coordinator ... so I installed it somewhere in the Intranet folder. The teachers found out and deleted my 'stash'. Dang! Sporkguy
I have no idea if this was posted previously, but this thread is WAY too big to read it all. There's a thing I use at college called Portable Firefox - and it runs from my USB flash drive, profiles etc too :) Portable Firefox

vbsodx
Hmm, well I attempted to persuade our network admin to install Firefox on the network earlier today. Guess I'll use Portable Firefox until/if FX gets installed on the network.

mcb
I go to the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada there are a ton of computers on campus here, most of the general-access ones just use Win2000 with IE. there are some underpowered old ones running like IE 4 and/or Netscape Navigator the spiffy new computers (which are all fancy HP ones with 18" LCDs on em, and there are hundreds of these babies), have dual boot Win2000 and Red Hat 9. the redhats use Mozilla. customizations to your linux/mozilla profile are stored on your login account Edited November 20, 2004 by mcb
zergberg
SP2 IE 6... With, for some reason, Google image search and anything with the word "videogame" blocked. Oddly enough, they do not block any other search engine or a site with an illegal download of Age of Mythology. Hmmm.... Yay for porta-firefox! ZZOOzzoo
Our school website looks outrageous with FX, so there's no way out school will use that.. :pinch:
family guy
Our Network Admin is debating on installing it. She probably will if she finds the time. Until then she said I could use Portable Firefox as long as nobody knew what I was doing, since they are having problems with kids bringing .exes from thumbdrives and installing stuff. Yes, I know you dont have to install Portable Firefox on the computer to use it, but other kids may not know.
Slimy
if they did, i'd find a work around to get ie or simply hack the system and delete it

Every computer in there has been upgraded to WinXP SP2 with Firefox installed as well. I assume that they did this over the summer. IE is still there, but you have the option of running Firefox. As well, the computers in Thornborough (with the dual boot machines) allow you to install Firefox if you log into a linux account. The Win2000 accounts are too restricted and only supply you with IE or Mozilla (as you said)!
