Caffine Soda Nearly Got Me Killed

I live in Indiana. We back hill folk call it Pop sometimes. However, I try not to let the world of Indiana change my brain functions so I usually say soda. I slip up sometimes. Now to convince my friends and family to say soda.

Actually, soda and pop are regional. Here in Ohio it's POP. NO ONE says soda. BUT in Pennsylvania it's SODA. My mom's from PA and so we grew up saying soda instead of pop. People can't stand that around here. So I say SODA as much as possible. ;)

I know someone who has a collection of Episode I cans sitting on his window sill. I wonder if it got really really hot in your closet during the summer and a chemical reaction occured... Why are you keeping unopened soda in your closet anyways?

That's pretty bad, I'm gonna hafta tell the guys at work about that one. In the break room almost everybody gets coke from the vending machine so that might pique someone's interest :).

Does anybody know the list of active ingredients on Coke? I wonder how many of them are affected by heat or long term dormancy...

australia too...

in fact, in some pubs, when a group of friends need someone sober to drive them home after drinking the night away (and someone to puke all over), the pub provides free coke for the person -- as much as they can drink.

we just call them fizzy drinks LOL

It's true... we don't have 'soda' or 'pop', instead we have 'fizzy drinks'. And we don't have 'candy' either... we have 'sweets' or 'chocolate', but never candy.

Anyway, I hate the term 'soda' and 'pop', but also think 'fizzy drinks' is too lame to describe it as well.

over here in thailand, when speaking in english, we usually just call the name of the drinks, which i beleive is easier than calling them 'soda' or 'pop' or 'soda pop' or 'fizzy drinks' or 'soft drinks' :p

we do ocasionsally call it 'soft drinks' tho, but not as much as the name of the drink itself...if you would like a pepsi, coke, sprite..you just go, could i have a coke/pepsi/sprite?

/me likes coke.

Actually, it is Soda Pop. The phrase coined when the product first emerged. So, either is correct. Soda/Pop.

I'm sure I remember leaving a tooth in a glass of coke overnight when i was at school, and at the next lesson, it was really corroded and black.

Pretty concerning though!

fwiw, I think pop+soda sound kinda lame, but 'fizzy drinks' does as well. We call it 'coke or something'.

"do u want a coke or sumfin". thats about it. never drink the stuff though, just coffee.

Unless I'm in a club, then i drink nothing but bacardi + coke. Mmmm.

Yeah we did that as well.

Kind of freaky, Coke is more corrosive then Pepsi.

I remember my dad telling me once you can poor it on car batteries to clean the conductants or something like that.

I had these collector cans from Star Wars Episode I.

I have been savibng them in my closet on top of these other collectibles.

Anyways I look in today and the pop actually turned into acid ate through the can and leaked all over, then the pop is eating through a bunch of cardboard and making a hissing noise. So I goto throw the cans away when I pick them up they smell like battery acid. And they started eating into the garbage bag!

Nothing better then having acid spill on ur collectibles and nearly destroy some of them worth a ton o money. :dead:

And about two-thirds of the people who inhabit this planet drink soda that contains acid which makes you wonder doesn't it.
