Blackcomb screenies?

Recommended Posts

Ok I don't know you guys, but since 1 week many and many ss and movies are appearing on neowin and on the net, but lemme c that i think of those screenshot:

1- The Windows are, im sure, a theme. The Desktop junkies on top and on the desktop are just ObjectX Desktop, and the rest is Reshacker thingie... Edit a dll to change the about screen and im sure there's a way to change the Windows 'supposed' build, or the screenie has been photoshoped.

Man, it's like another screenie i got a while ago, it's obvious it's fake! :s Sorri pal

:/

dunno why I am the first to notice... but did you guys see the second screen shot? all that transparency would really tax a system, I mean, the miniumum requirement would be pretty damn high I would think.

I am thinking it's more likely to be a prototyped ui like someone pointed out.

but besides the transparency eye candy, I really don't like it.

Well, Longhorn will definately not be for low-end systems as Longhorn is expected to include quite a bit of eye candy. I'm sure though that there will be an option to turn it off.

Did anyone happen to notice that the word "available" was misspelled on the 2nd screen, under My .NET services? Even MS has a spellchecker.

I totally agree with you. But what will be considered low end when Longhorn is out? more than 1 GHz? what about video? at least gforce 3?

what I think is that instead of relying on the raw power of computer components, optimize the code more. nowadays there's lots of apps size much larger than they need to be and require much more power.

if u just noticed people do fake screenys

the buildnumbers are always the ones that will be determined...

if u remmeber XPback in the beta stages reading their build info and verifying if this is a new internal leak was by checking this...

for example xps buildinfo

build.2600(010827-1803)

which means version 2600

time stamped on 2001 August 27th - 18:03, which is 6.03 pm

well, fake or not, it's definately not looking that way with any programs that are out today, simpley because no skins go down into the client area of a window, like the left and right ends tend to on the about boxes.

the desktop itself would be cake to do, either have it as a background image with a few shortcuts thrown liberally about with the help of active desktop for the news items, or maybe desktopx if someone had enough time on their hands to hack it out.

and as someone else pointed out, if that really is blackcomb, then it's from the 22nd of december, which i myself doubt...course, when did those other pics of blackcomb come out, with the road wallpaper and sheep and such? about that time? i think so...

damn you Osiris, LOL. :D jp

OK, yeah, they are fake. No, they weren't created using DesktopX or any stuff like that, those are completely made from scratch in photoshop (minus the msn page, the about windows, and all the icons)

I was bored one day. :D

LMAO, yea they're copying apple with the open programs bar thingy at the top and all that. but yea they could get some good ideas. but then they wouldn't need the team of high priced pros who sit around and go "lets make windows ugly... Yea and crash alot" see theyd be out of a job then...
