Kusanagi
While I was navigating on microsoft's webpage, I found this video that shows windows xp versus windows 95... LOL Sure fun, especially when they show the win95 desktop full of icons (god, I remember my desktop was just like that! :)) Click here and have some fun :p
Prof. Frink
I watched this the other day...kinda funny watching these kinds of videos because the "actors" really suck...
Tesseract
If you are still runnning Win95, then more than likely your computer would not be capable of running WinXP.
Deryck
Microsoft Windows XP wins hands down, mainly because many of my applications can not run on Microsoft Windows 95. I have seen that video before and man, that test just was not justified. :D
Tim Dorr Veteran Posted April 30, 2002 Veteran Share Posted April 30, 2002 that's like something I'd see on the TV at 3am... Funny stuff...I like the intentional clutter on the 95 desktop :D
mortensen
Erm... Windows 95 wins.... at being the most innovative OS. WinXP was pretty mediocre in comparison to the great release that was Win95 (at the time). XP is very unremarkable in comparison. I think Blackcomb or Longhorn will actually be a lot more revolutionary (and I really hope they are!).
CaKeY
LOL!!! Thanks, I hadn't seen that yet.

Deryck
Actually, from what I have heard, I think the launch of Microsoft Windows Codenamed Blackcomb will be something revolutionary, I would hope. :D

You might have a point that WinXP wasn't as revolutionary as Win95 was over Win3.1, but does that make it win the battle between XP and 95? I don't think so. K-LineD
I think that DOES make the battle
neowin_hipster
i'd say winxp for the kernel and gui and win95 for omitting all the user friendly crap and the bloat... but, hey! That's what linux is for :p
CustardFD
If only they would compare 3.11 and 98...

Explicative
What they fail to mention is that, pathetically, win9x has better user customization than xp in some respects. For instance, video resolution is user dependent in 9x whereas it is system dependent in xp. This really ****es me off...

That has got to be the worst thing for alot of multi-user computers (like a family's) since everyone has different viewing preferences. Funny as much as Microsoft touts accessibility, this goes against it. Oh well maybe they will fix it sometime soon.

altezza Veteran Posted May 1, 2002 Veteran Share Posted May 1, 2002 Yeah I was amazed when I got myself a copy of Windows 95 the day it was released. And now...Windows 95 already a history, but it has evolutionized the look of Windows ever since...well as least from Windows 3.1 :)
