DeathLace
Won't vote because there should be an option like Smoke Only or Drink Only. My choice would be Drink Only.

ToastGodSupreme
Originally posted by Toxikk what is up with all these pointless posts. take them to a parents board or something they have no need to be here. ditto but just to reply: practically everyone in my family smokes and drinks. I don't. Lucky me (serious). I watch them blow so much money on that ****, I've lived with my father and had a fridge full of beer and condiments but no real food. I've suffered a lot because of alkie and smokes (chronic bronchitis is fun, especially when parents won't listen when you tell them that it's THEIR smoking that causes it). My little brother is an alcoholic, has been since the age of 16. He is also a pothead. I've disowned both my father and brother. What do you think my stance on this is? SOOPAH256
considering that i would never touch that stuff myself, i would say hell no to my kids. though i would probably let them decide for themselves. i wouldn't try to ontrol their lives to the point where they forget that they are THEIR lives. :p :p :p :p :p
Jon
Smoking is retarded. One question: What is the point of smoking?....... I have no problem with people drinking, I dont care if people get p*ssed every other night, as long as they can stop (and appreciate that its far from healthy). Generally, drink helps people relax and have fun, and getting absolutely bladdered is *great* fun. Smoking just err isn't. Cant see a single reason to smoke, apart from being weak minded and being enticed by your friends. When it comes to weed, at least the people who do it do it for a reason. It aint for me though. LiGhTfast
i'd let them drink from the age of 13-14 on alco pops etc no spirits and make sure they dont do it all the time(once a weekend with mates from school on a park or sommet) smoke weed from 16+ no smoking regular fags tho eva! just like i did and i turned out fine :p that what basically all UK teenagers do anyway
nemo
i'd rather have my child Smoke weed than drink. and only smoke weed. no cigarettes or anything. only if i had a choice but they wouldn't.. .cause if they didn't.. i'd kill em :D

LunaC
I don't have kids, but if I did, I'd let them drink in moderation. I know from experience that I only drank excessively when I was young because it was something forbidden... so it was a LOT more fun. Once I was legal age to drink it lost a lot of interest for me. Now I drink socially, but never at home. (Which I did when I was underage but no longer living at home.) Smoking... that would be a tough one. I smoke (cigarettes) even though I know it's stupid, but I wouldn't want them to take up the habit. I guess if I did have kids I'd quit, and deal with it with it as it came up. It seems that often the more people tell people not to do something... they want to do it more. I did... just as a way to rebel I suppose.

OrangesOfCourse
if they are underaged.. i would not let them.. if they are the right age.. i will just discourage them from doing so.. after all.. its their life. They are adults and can take care of themselves. :)
Kusanagi
Well, drinking IMO is okay if you don't drink 'till you turn blue and your eyes do a 180? spin, and smoking just plain sucks. And that's what I would tell my kids (of course, if they are 5 yrs old, I would discourage that, since only smelling vodka would make them drunk:DD)
kbs
mugsy, You're asking cause of mouse aren't you? lol My mother/stepfather never cared much about drinking. In my family on holidays you're offered wine from about age 10 and up. Smoking is probably frowned upon. Hard to tell. Stepfather's mother died of lung cancer. Aunt has tumors in her spinal cord right now that spread from her lungs. Stepfather used to chew tobacco but quit when his mother got sick. so...I'd say they wouldn't let it. I, personally, don't drink or smoke so no, I wouldn't encourage my children to But a drink on special occations in their teens I wouldn't worry about too much...I'd rather they drink at home with me than out with their friends binge drinking and dying/getting in accidents. wouldn't you?
