Hexum
saw this over at xp-erience.org The P2P network giant, Sharman Networks, has finally revealed an ulterior motive behind their P2P software. KaZaA has been equipped with a Trojan known as Altnet, which will steal your ?spare processing, storage and communications power?. Designed by BDE, Altnet has been part of KaZaA since March, and has been downloaded by millions of users without their knowledge. Users still have a month to decide wether they will support this kind of behavior and secrecy from the controversial software company. The Trojan is not scheduled to begin for the next four or five weeks. Full Story @ Theage
amoeba
I honestly don't know why ANYONE uses Kazaa...if you were a smart person you'd use KazaaLite [ google it ] and not have to deal with any of that... of course, if everyone used Kazaalite, there wouldn't be any Kazaa hubs, would there...nevermind. Wolvereen
Here's my 2 cents... I dont use any file sharing software at all. I get litterally everything I want off of newsgroups. Most CD's I have months before they are released, and any requests I post are ususally filled within days. My colelction of MP3's has grown to 140+ GB that way... :-)

Tai
well I've read the article but there doesn't seem to be any mention of whether there is a remedy to remove Altnet... ... or even if Altnet is part of the already reported b3D software which has (at least we think so) been removed by Adaware .... :ponder: :ponder:
