Erm, Rap is a music genre. Hip-hop is more of a lifestyle and can't really be called a genre as rap is part of the hip hop scene.

Rap is a way in which words are rythmically spoken.

Some rock groups ("Reveille" spring to mind) rap in their songs - though rap is more common in what you youngsters call hippety hop.

Hip hop isn't any more of a lifestyle than Rock is.

Hip hop, however, is tied in with drugs, violence and crime.

Hip hop sucks.
