besides the 120GB they also have a 100GB and a new 80GB Size.

So if you can't afford the 120, perhaps the 80GB or 100GB? they're a bit less.

The problem is that the BB series only has a 2 MB cache whereas the JB series has an 8 MB cache. Without the 8 MB cache, you wont get the SCSI performance.

I have one Seagate 80GB HD and one WD 10GB HD on my main computer. One IBM 30GB HD one another, and a Seagate 40GB HD and a WD 8GB HD on a third computer. That makes 168 Gigs total. That's enough for me right now! :)

Anyone take a look at this yet? Sounds promising <:)

ATA/ATAPI-6 Proposed Standard

Quoted From Maxtor's Website:

Appendix B: Big Numbers

? 131 kilobytes = 131,000 bytes

a little more than 30 pages of text

? 33 megabytes = 33,000,000 bytes

more than 8,000 pages of text or 25 300-page books

? 137 gigabytes = 137,000,000,000 bytes

more than 100,000 books, or the contents of a good library

? 2.2 terabytes = 2,200,000,000,000 bytes

almost 2,000,000 books, or the about content of the Library of Congress

? 144 petabytes = 144,000,000,000,000,000 bytes

120 billion books (more than all that man has written)? 9.4 zettabytes = 9,400,000,000,000,000,000,000 byteses

Someone hook me up with a 9.4 zettabyte hard disk!

/me wants more space <:)

Haha Dell had that drive for sale, I used some coupons and got it shipped to my house for $151.33 grand total :-).

That means I have:

120gb WD w/ 8mb cache

80gb WD

80gb WD (yes two)

so 280gb total.

Hugs & kisses,
