New site layout

Question

[yt]    0

I've decided to redo my site for the 6th time now and I wanted everyones opinions on the site. Are the colors too lite? the text too small/big? any weird things or bugs? please let me know. I figured before I spend the time to finish all the sections and content I would get it critiqued first, here it is: WhiteStar Graphics

Thanks! :)

edit: i closed the link to my site for the time being. after trying to make some of these changes i ran into probs and so i scrapped the whole thing. i'll repost again later.

Cool, but isn't it a little hard to maintain a site that is fully based on photos?

Very nice. My only concern is the text on the nav bar is a bit hard to see. Maybe slighly darken the bar it is on? Or and a darker grey stroke on the text?

It's all right... difficult to read the text, partially due to the antialiasing on the rasterised text which won't be an image in the final version i'm sure. Also makes me scroll my monitor horizontally on 1024x768 - don't alienate the users of the most common screen resolution!

hmm... "sixpointo" As creative as it is.... it just seems kind of goofy to me. ;D

Besides that its a very clean and well put together layout.

No you're absolutely right - it's your prerogative to have all the text on your website as an image. It's just monstrous web design to do this.

You'll want to layout the page with individual images ( slice your current images)

In a manner that the sit resizes better. Nav messes up on lower resolutions.

Not to mention the colors of the actual links are a bit off.

Howerver comendable job on the design, keep up the goodwork.

The critisism i posted isn't to deter but to give you my perspective on what i think would help

I like the concept i'm just not sure about the end product; the site seems a bit too image based - surely you can use text and if you need any help with HTML (to which I don't think there needs to be too much work) then there's going to be someone on here who will be willing to help (so long as you ask!)

Also, as said earlier, you should definitely make your site so it's at least fully usable to res. 1024x768 as this is the resolution with the largest usage overall: there aren't terrible amounts of people using screen resolutions above this (not your average user anyway).

I think its pretty cool.. different... the navigation links up top kinda suck tho- the font/font size and color doesnt really match the rest of the site. When I first loaded the page all the links were blue. The body of the page seems kind of empty too with the white background. Otherwise I really like the design, its simple but creative.

Very, very nice! I love the colours and the intuitive way they're 'meshed'. Only critique would be that some of the text is a touch hard ot read.

- 'ite' and 'gr' on logo

- '+1.7.05'

- 'news and updates' (just a bit too small)

/edit: Two more things

- Nav links are - errm - are they not done yet?

- Avoid making users have to side-scroll. I'm on 1024x768 - and I couldn't even see those links until I scrolled.

ewww your right about the res size, I just changed my pc's res to 1024x768 and that looks nasty. I guess I should of changed my screen res before building the site but I thought I had made it small enough. :)
